Developer Mediatonic has confirmed that the servers for mobile & Windows 10 game Gears Pop! are shutting down next year, marking less than two years in existence for the doomed Gears-Funko crossover (thanks TA).
As confirmed on the official app, the servers are set to close on April 26, 2021, with the game bringing back popular events, increasing Bounty rewards and upping the drop rates for Legendary Pins until that time.
There's been no reason provided for the game's closure, but we're assuming it's due to a dwindling player base. All in-app purchases have also now been disabled ahead of next year's end date.
Shocked by this, or is it what you expected? Let us know down in the comments.

Surprised it lasted this long, it was pretty bad tbh...
I forgot this game even existed.
I did go through a phase where I would play everyday but haven't touched it really for 6 months, got bored of the grind
