Studio Wildcard's Ark: Survival Evolved is the latest game to get an Xbox Series X|S enhancement, although this appears to be via backwards compatibility rather than a specific next-gen optimisation.

Well, nice.
Guess thats 100GB+ of the X's 1TB blown already lol
The trailer shows only empty environments and no dinosaurs. That doesn't seem like an oversight.
@abe_hikura That was my first thought too 100+ GB's down.
My second thought was that the framerate was truly awful and hopefully that was fixed first before shinies were added.
@hallower1980 it'll still look as beautiful with the dinos, it will just run at 5 frames a second. š
@Mckilmer @themightyant
I like how non-commital the FPS boast was "4K Output at 30-60 FPS"
It might be 60, it might be 30, we also never promised it wont violently bounce between any of the in between numbers.
@abe_hikura Iād settle for a STABLE 30
@themightyant Yeah, since I play with friends through non-dedicated I really rather it was a locked 30 that it violently dipping from 60ish every time someone cuts a tree down
I'm not sure if it is the patched version or not but Digital Foundry on Youtube checked it out and it was mostly 60fps with the occasional drop to 50+
So do all these upgrades (except 4k resolution) also apply to Series S? Ark was literally the reason I bought an Xbox one X (which I later traded in for an Xbox one S, due to their broken promises). If these upgrades are Series X exclusive, then I might jump on the X sooner than later, but if it's also on the Series S that would be great, and I'll just jump on the S sooner than later.
The most important upgrades for me being:
Is this game good? What do you do in it?
@krzzystuff It's more tedious survival (food, water, resource gathering) than action and exploration. Taming takes forever unless you use a cheat command on a private server. It's probably more fun with friends. I didn't care for it, but might use cheats to explore more of it on Series X.
@hallower1980 @Krzzystuff I never played on the official servers. I have a private server that I share with friends where we've upped the taming speed, resource gathering speed and pretty everything else that takes forever in default settings. It's great fun, and let's you spend more time exploring than gathering resources or trying to feed a dinosaur.
