won't give it the worst grade because we have to keep the pandemic in mind i think, but.....meh. hope the show gets better because that was a sleeping pill.
I gave it a C, I was pretty bored through the entire event.. The highlight for me was Ratchet & Clank and Mafia Definitive Edition..
It’s was ok went D in the end.
I guess I was hoping for a bit more but considering Covid at least he put a show on, so fair play.
They gave Cyberpunk the best PS game this is wrong at so many levels LOLOL
Look it felt great in the first half and second half the bubble blew out. It’s the same issue the Gameawards had, the good announcements in early half and then some okay ones. I mean the gameplay for R&C is great for PS, but a full on demo at the very end? Which honestly COD would have been a much better closer. I’ll stop now ...
@Z3u5000
Those awards were terrible especially that one.
On the other side Push Square they really slaying the show bad. At least they got some Rachet and Clank gameplay.
@Dezzy70 yeah what’s the point of the awards? I’m still trying to figure out how games not out yet win anything...
I gave it a B as it was a good effort I thought. Obviously totally different to what they normally do, it was slick and high production value too.
@mousieone
I guess just for fun and some IGN involvement. Was the strangest awards ever.
Few things I'm super excited about like Dirt 5,Lego Star Wars and of course R&C, rest was boring at worst and mildly interesting at best. That WoW segment went on waaaaayyy to long though!
I gave it a C here and an Okay on Push Square. I think Geoff tried to temper expectations during the pre-show, but with so little shown this year (and we're almost in September), the people that frequent gaming sites want more. And more has been in short supply.
I gave it a C, Ratchet and Clank and Lego Star Wars was the only one that interested me, but I was already sold on those games, so whatever.
It was really cool that we got two pretty high profile VR games in Star Wars Squadrons & Medal of Honor: Above & Beyond. I love that the VR sphere still seems to be chugging along.
Otherwise Scarlet Nexus, LEGO Star Wars, & Ratchet & Clank looked good.
Only 5 games I was really interested in over a nearly 2 1/2 hour timeframe is pretty poor overall though.
Also going for a C here. I believe it really showed how much pandemic slowed things down. Not much excitement there either.
@mousieone corruption.
It’s also in the game industry.
Giving it a C, it was a general gaming left overs from the "not E3" seasons so lacked it traditional "follow up punch" from gamescon's past.
I do retroactively dislike it since I found out Medal of Honour isn't coming to Oculus Quest despite that misleading image at the end of the trailer.
@RR529 I wish MS would give Xbox some VR support, even if it was something basic like support for inside out tracking headset like Oculus or Vive and just let VR devs handle the rest via the games.
@abe_hikura, yeah, I'm pretty platform agnostic (my only Xbox was a 360, but I enjoyed my time with it), so when it came time for me to get a current gen console the VR support was a big reason I opted for PS4. Tetris Effect & Astro Bot are currently my two favorite VR titles.
Even though it was more of a proof of concept novelty, I even got that LABO VR kit for Switch.
