Yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase gave us a first look at the campaign for upcoming first-person shooter CrossfireX, which is being created by Control and Alan Wake developer, Remedy Entertainment.
You can check out the full trailer above, and IGN has since uploaded a video featuring impressions and snippets of raw gameplay from the campaign, which we've included below:
CrossfireX's multiplayer will actually be free-to-play when it launches for Xbox One and Xbox Series X later this year (with Smart Delivery support), but the campaign will available in a Premium Battle Pass.
A sprawling global conflict rages between the Global Risk and Black List mercenary factions in an immersive and cinematic single player experience from Smilegate Entertainment and Remedy. Where will the fight take you?

Looks really similar to COD and very special effects driven, I would have preferred more of a tactical shooter direction, but it also seems like it could be a fun game. I am just glad they are selling it on a campaign since so many games in the FPS genre seem to be centered around online multiplayer these days.
Looks like your bog standard, melodramatic military FPS to me. However, with Remedy's involvement, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I'll keep an eye on this one.
Doesnt sit right with me. Free to play multiplayer but pay a premium for a single player campaign?
Shafting the single player fans a bit there no? Should be one package.
This game surprised me with the campaign.
Classic bait and switch to include the campaign in the Game Pass event but not have it on Game Pass.
