It was announced during today's Xbox Games Showcase that survival horror FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is coming to Xbox Series X, and it will be a console launch exclusive.
The developer says it will feature one of the biggest open-worlds to date, filled with radiation, mutants, and anomalies, and it's crafting an epic, branching story culminating in lots of different endings. "You’ll have to make tough choices regularly — and be brave enough to face the consequences."
There's no release date for this one yet, but it's confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass.
With no compromises needed, the power of Microsoft’s next-gen console compliments GSC Game World’s first-ever console announcement perfectly. We are also happy to have our game come to Xbox Game Pass on day one: all the new gamers out there can have a taste of what we make, fall in love with our universe, and become new S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s.
Will you be trying out S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 when it comes to Xbox Series X? Let us know in the comments.

This was a highlight for me. The atmosphere captured in this trailer is superb.
@Medic_Alert They are timed exclusives will hit Xbox first but also PC so they call it a "Console exclusive" rather than timed ie Xbox first console to get it.
It is exactly what you think it is. Which is why the messaging around timed exclusives is so off at the moment. I think the point Phil made was they wanted to shift focus away from them rather than not do them at all.
I got to admit I’m a bit confused with the “console launch exclusive”
Does this mean it’s a title that will be there at the launch of the console, and not be on any other console?
Does it mean simply “timed exclusive”?
Does it mean the console version is exclusive but also coming to PC?
@Medic_Alert “I though MS weren't doing anymore.”
I don’t recall MS ever saying that, maybe I missed it? It’s just my understanding that they are simply moving away from entirely being dependent on third party temp exclusives. When the Xbox only had Tomb Raider times exclusives to lure new gamers, they just waited for the exclusivity to end.
Now they have an absurd number if first party games, but they still can spice things up with timed exclusives.
@Tharsman I think it means in terms of console it launches on Xbox first and other platforms later. They specify console due it coming to PC day and date with Xbox.
@Tharsman As far as I know, it means it's a timed exclusive.
They flashed the "console launch exclusive" wording up at the start of the trailer.
@FraserG it was just a strange wording. Especially since I think The Medium also had it? And that game felt touted as console exclusive.
@Tharsman Yeah, I know what you mean.
And people will still ask why they should buy Series X when games like Halo will be on Xbox One?
To be honest, this looked more 'next gen' than most - still something I am interested in - along with Scorn...
This game could be big. The Stalker series (no, I am not doing the . between each letter. I’m on my phone. Lol) was a really cool, but buggy series on PC.
But it spawned the Metro franchise, which has turned out to be fantastic.
People shouldn’t sleep on this game!
I despise timed exclusives. I don't like it when other platform holders do it, and I like it even less when Xbox does it. 😤
I’m going to drop this here: I bet this is yet another studio MS is heavily considering to acquire. It fits in many ways: one impressive game, small, likely “cheap” to acquire,
TONS of potential.
