The Holiday 2020 release of Halo Infinite for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X is fast approaching, but according to a new job listing, 343 Industries is already looking towards a "new project in the Halo universe."
This was spotted by Twitter user Klobrille earlier today, with the Microsoft Careers advert noting the 343 team is searching for a Senior Producer. "This is your chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry’s most talented teams," it says.
Unfortunately, that's all we have to go on for now, so it's anyone's guess as to what this project might be. What do you want see next after Halo Infinite? Let us know in the comments.

I sincerely hope the job description includes "previous knowledge of split screen gameplay"
That absolutely killed Halo 5 for me (that and the story... Why bring Cortana back?! Halo 4 ended her arc perfectly)
I still hope Microsoft haven't put all their eggs in the Halo Infinite basket. If it's like Halo 3 it's a system seller and a game for all time. If it's like Halo 5 trouble lies ahead...
Halo Wars 3?
I would love that.
@pip_muzz I couldn’t agree more. I was so disappointed with Halo 5. The combat was fun, but that was about all I enjoyed of it. Bringing Cortana back was such a huge mistake.
I'd personally like to see another ODST-style spinoff.
I'm good.
343i have managed to mess up every Halo game they've produced. The best one was Halo Wars 2, and even that I fought MS support for a refund on the digital version because of the misleading marketing on their DLC plans.
MS have snapped up much better talent with their recent dev buying spree. I'd rather they get these devs to produce brand new and exciting IPs, instead of clinging to legacy IPs that MS and their new devs just simply never understood enough to support.
@Odium It's the fact Cortana is going to also be in Halo Infinite based on 5's cliffhanger lack-of-ending. I used to love Halo but 5 was such a disappointment. I thought Halo 4 was good. Very good considering it was the first non Bungie effort but after 5 I just don't trust 343i to deliver. I really hope Microsoft have that Fable reboot ready for the Series X launch, as a new Forza Motorsport would be great (but hardly revolutionary) and I just don't trust 343i to deliver... I'm very anxious and not that excited for Halo Infinite as a result
@pip_muzz I’m very weary for Infinite. I enjoyed 4 as well and 5 was complete let down for me, to the point where I don’t even remember the ending. I’ll still very likely get Infinite, but I’m more nervous than I’ve ever been for a Halo game. I was the same way with Gears 5 because I didn’t like 4 at all, luckily 5 has been much better from what I’ve played. MS as a whole needs to refocus on some of their exclusive titles and get them back on par with their roots. I would love for Halo, Gears and Fable to all blow me out of the water by feeling new, but fresh.
People are so down on Halo in this thread because of one bad campaign?
Yes Halo 5’s campaign was a mess. But the multiplayer is top notch. And Halo 4 had a great campaign, in my opinion. 343 just needs to put it all together for Infinite. But I am not ready to give up on them after one bad campaign.
If Sony fans gave up on the God Of War series after the lame GOW: Ascension, they wouldn’t have gotten the newer GOW. Or if they gave up on Guerilla Games after the mediocre Killzone: Shadow Fall (not to mention the trash original), there may have been no Horizon: ZD. And how many crappy Ratchet & Clank games has Insomniac made over the years?
As Xbox fans, we should expect the best from the Halo series, but people talk like Halo is some long declining series now. I think that’s ridiculous. We’ll see how Infinite turns out, & I am willing to give 343 a chance. 👍🏻
@Odium yeah I was really let down with the campaign after that amazing teaser with Chief in the robes walking through the desert. The multiplayer is very fun, and I still play it to this day. I just hope Infinite is a return to form for the single player.
I have only played Halo 1 this far (MCC) because it's somewhat frustrating and I want to beat it before playing 2 but if 343 Industries have developed 4 and 5 and most fans think that 4 has a good campaign and that the multiplayer part of 5 is great then I don't get why they think that 343 is not capable of doing a good job. 343 admitted that they need to make a better campaign for the next Halo game (Infinite) after 5's lukewarm reception and they have been improving Master Chief Collection incessantly. Isn't Destiny a letdown for many Bungie fans, too?
The biggest letdown in video game history is New Super Mario Bros. 2, rubbish compared to the other Mario games.
