Xbox Series X Production Has Reportedly Begun

The Xbox Series X is currently scheduled to release in Holiday 2020, and it looks like production for the console has officially begun! We're learning this courtesy of an article from French website Xboxygen, which recently spoke to Xbox France director Ina Gelbert.

We're not masters of the French language here at Pure Xbox, so we've had to use Google Translate for this one! Here's what the article says when translated:

"What we learn today is that the console is in production, and that France is one of the priority countries for the delivery of machines at the end of the year."

Discussing the current plans for launch in the midst of COVID-19, Gelbert appeared to state that the idea is to "be present in more countries than at the launch of the Xbox One." Additionally, while noting that she doesn't see a risk for France in this respect, she suggested the coronavirus pandemic still has the potential to affect plans.

In a follow-up, Gelbert spoke more about the Xbox Series X's launch in France (again, translated via Google):

"In any case in our plan today, we have the units for the launch. France is in the priority countries. Now, will we have enough ... This is always a big question, and this is where we enter into discussions for us, and it is my role, to favor France over to other countries. Show that we have the community, that we have the market, that there are huge expectations around the Xbox Series X in France and that we need units to cover this demand."
