Rumour: Next-Gen Assassin's Creed Reveal Coming Today

Update (Wed 29th Apr, 2020 21:10 BST): The setting for the game has been revealed in a seven-hour livestream! The name is Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and a reveal trailer is dropping April 30th.

Original Story (Wed 29th Apr, 2020 11:15 BST): We're going big on the rumours this morning! According to a couple of sources, it looks we might be getting an Assassin's Creed reveal for Xbox Series X later today. The news cropped up via a comment from noted industry insider Shinobi602 last night on Resetera, and more hints have since surfaced.

Responding to a question of whether an event today would concern Xbox Series X, PS5 or a new Assassin's Creed game, Shinobi602 teased with just the word "yes". Later, Senior Analyst at Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad noted that Ubisoft China is preparing an upcoming announcement:

Furthermore, Ahmad noted that it's "worth paying attention to Ubisoft social media outside of China too. Both today and tomorrow." It certainly looks like something big is happening then, and if you want to a keep a vigilant eye out, that Ubisoft China announcement is scheduled for today at 8am EST/1pm BST.
