There have been rumours about a potential Perfect Dark reboot on Xbox Series X for some time now, and it's been suggested that Xbox Game Studios developer The Initiative is behind it. We still don't know for sure, but a former employee's LinkedIn CV might have revealed some hints.
The CV belongs to an ex-Technical Designer at The Initiative, who notes that he "designed and scripted various weapons, gadgets, and a camera surveillance system for an unannounced project" with the company. Additionally, he noted that he's an "expert in Blueprint programming in Unreal Engine 4."
There's not enough to go on to make any full-on assumptions, but it certainly sounds like he might be talking about the rumoured Perfect Dark reboot. The idea of "reboots" being revealed for Xbox Series X was hinted at by an industry insider earlier this month, so it seems like it lines up.
And of course, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer himself possibly even teased it a few months ago, noting that The Initiative was challenging itself "to do new things (and old things) in new ways." But who knows? Maybe we're completely off on this one, and The Initiative is working on something completely different. Hopefully we'll find out very soon.
Do you think The Initiative is working on a Perfect Dark reboot? Let us know in the comments.

Never played Perfect dark zero, I would deff check this out though when it releases on Series X
Never really got why Perfect Dark was so popular, other than that it was a Rare game. Give me a call when they're talking about a Viva Pinata reboot!
Both Perfect Dark games are good but I agree that there are two games or franchises that are needed the most in the current Xbox ecosystem: Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Piñata. Fable is another must-come-back but that one has its share of rumours.
Perfect Dark or SciFi Splinter Cell, please!!!
I loved Perfect Dark on the N64 and actually preferred it in many ways to Goldeneye. It was after all the 'sequel' but having lost the James Bond licence, they made their own character and set the game in the future.
Perfect Dark: Zero was a disappointment - not that it was 'bad' but it seemed somewhat shallow by comparison and had hoped for something more than it was. Maybe I expected more...
With so many advancements now in technology, I don't know that I want another 'linear' FPS with a multiplayer component - although if the story is good and the missions are interesting, it could be great. I would like to see the return of 'additional' objectives for higher difficulty settings too.
The head of the Initiative worked at Crystal Dynamics on Tomb Raider reboots, Hitman, Deus Ex: Human Revolution etc as well as Senior V-P at Activision (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Remastered, Call of Duty: WWII, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Destiny 2) so has experience of FPS games too. Its not that much of stretch to bring aspects from these into a reboot of Perfect Dark...
Just having beat MGS V, I'm really wanting to play something stealth related. I feel like there's a really big hole in the industry with the stealth genre that Perfect Dark could fit... perfectly.
I mean, it's all there. I recently started playing the original on Xbox to get excited about any upcoming reveals. Most of the game is pretty much a shooter, but there are a few moments where it's all about sneaking or disguising yourself and infiltrating places. A pure stealth game could work and still be faithful to the spirit of the original game.
Please please please be a 3rd person stealth game.
Loved PD on the 64. Still play it sometimes. The GBC game was very hard but pretty good for such a tiny amount of processing power. I liked PD on 360 but I didn't get on too well with PDzero. I'd love the series to start up again. 3rd person, 1st person, I don't mind!
Bringing back Perfect Dark would be a great move by Microsoft. I can’t wait to see the possible reveal this summer.
