Update: It's back! Following the backlash, developer Infinity Ward posted to Twitter stating "we hear you loud and clear!", and confirming Battle Royale Trios will be reintroduced later tonight (April 16th) at 11PM PST.
Original Story: (Wed 15th Apr, 2020 13:30 BST): This week's update to the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone has proven controversial with fans to say the least. The reason relates to a new Trios mode called Scopes and Scatter Guns, which replaces the standard Battle Royale Trios mode with a version limited to specific weapons.
However, many fans have reacted very negatively to the move, suggesting that the standard Trios should always remain in the game, rather than be rotated with other modes. Over at the CoD: Warzone Reddit community, most of the top-commented threads are related to its removal:
There are lots of players using social media sites such as Twitter to request the return of standard Trios as well, while another fan took to Reddit to state the following (receiving 1.1k comments in reply):
"Absolutely no one wants your limited time modes to replace the core modes of Battle Royale. Youre killing your own game here by rotating game modes constantly. Bring Trios back and KEEP IT THERE."
Meanwhile, Armored Trucks have also now been removed from the Solos portion of the game. Vehicles have proven very useful (a little too useful) in CoD: Warzone so far, and Raven Software's Amos Hodge has suggested the trucks were removed in attempt to tone down the "vehicle meta" (thanks VG247):

"Are you irritated by the removal of Trios from Call of Duty: Warzone?"
No, but I am irritated by Call of Duty: Warzone. Raven should be doing something more sophisticated, more dignified, given its FPS pedigree, than Battle Royale trash. #RescueRaven
