Microsoft have confirmed January's Games With Gold offering, and a lot of gamers will be happy with the choice, we're sure.
On Xbox One from January 1st, you'll be able to pick up Swery65's D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die. The game has picked up good to very good reviews pretty much across the board, and is well worth the playing time.
On Xbox 360, January 1st will see now-defunct THQ's MX vs. ATV Alive from 2011 going free, with that title being swapped out for CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 2 mid-month. The Witcher 2 will surely whet the whistles of those who are still on the fence for next year's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The latter title is a relatively decent racer that could while away a few hours, for sure.
What do you think of January's offerings?

The witcher on pc and then witcher 2 on either were great games. A rerun just before 3 comes out will do nicely. Gerald with gold, bargain!
I'm glad more people will be able to play D4!
Looking forward to trying out D4. looks far more interesting than the previous free XboxOne entries at any rate!
Witcher 2 is one have already played to death but a nicely timed reminder for the next in the series!
Wasn't that enamoured with D4 - bit too quirky...
Witcher 2 will definitely be getting downloaded though - not played any version before so should make a good intro to 3 (or turn me off it)...
wow thats a great list of games for next month.
great job Microsoft
Not too shabby, D4 is very well made. A bit slow but if you have the time its good stuff.
I love D4, hopefully this promotion gets it some more well-deserved recognition. And The Witcher 2 is one of the best WRPGs ever made. Great month indeed.
I can't believe people online are calling this "crap". No pleasing some people.
Will be definitely downloading The Witcher 2 and probably D4. Not to bad, way better then the December offerings.
@TylerTreese sometimes I think the only way to please some ppl out there is offering brand new games for free, then they'll still probably find a way to complain about that, so no there really isn't a way to please some nut jobs out there
