We've just heard from one of our close sources in the retail sector that Microsoft is prepping a limited edition R2-D2 Xbox 360 console — complete with Kinect sensor — set to launch alongside the forthcoming Kinect Star Wars.
According to our reports, the machine (which will almost certainly look nothing like this custom-made model) will be clad in a blue and white paint job — even the Kinect sensor itself will be sporting a neat palette change.
Will this Star Wars-themed machine tempt you into trading in your tired beige 360 for something blessed with The Force and officially licensed by George "The Beard" Lucas himself? Or are you holding out for the ultra-exclusive Jar Jar Binks edition, complete with flappy ears and annoying voice clips?

AHHHHHHH I wanted this when Kinect first came out....Oh well.
What does that make, I know at least the 3rd if not 4th limited edition console design after the halo and gears versions.
Wow. I'm not a big Star Wars fan and I already have my Kinect... but that's pretty awesome news! I could easily see more than a few of my friends being tempted to get this strictly for the collectable value.
I want a cool Boba Fett edition...
Great Idea and hopefully it won't be too expensive.
I'm really not interested in this game but I'd love to see the actual console. I like how Microsoft releases these limited edition consoles but the one for Gears of War 3 doesn't look all that great imo.
can they make a limited edition that doesn't require me to put my 360 vertical? how about a horizontal millennium falcon?
