We thought we might hear about this soon, and now we've finally got an answer! Tango Gameworks' Ghostwire: Tokyo is arriving on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC via Xbox Game Pass on April 12th, 2023.
The game, which was released as a PlayStation console exclusive by the Hi-Fi RUSH developer last year, will arrive on Xbox alongside a special Spider's Thread Update, introducing various new content in the process.
Ghostwire: Tokyo was released to good reviews back in March of 2022, acquiring a 75 Metacritic score for PlayStation 5, although our sister site Push Square was less impressed - they gave it a "Not Bad" 6/10.
You'll be able to judge it for yourself when it arrives on Xbox Game Pass this April... an exciting addition to the library!

Nice! I have been waiting to give this one a go.
I do have a PS5, but decided to wait this one out since the reviews for it weren't as high as Deathloop (which I did get for PS5 as well as played the Xbox version when it released).
I've been wanting to try this it looked interesting but not one i was willing to spend money on these are the type of games i love gamepass for.
Highly Recommend. Game doesn’t overstay its welcome and was a blast to Platinum. Give it a shot and check it out Game was widely overlooked and was my favorite of last year
Did not impressed me personally, but the games does have some strong sides.
Sweet deal. I'll definitely be checking this out.
I absolutely loved this game when i played it last year. It was in my top 3 favorite games of last year. The combination of the Japanese mythology, ghost stories combined with Modern day Tokyo and an open world type action adventure game made this game feel very relaxing and i learned a lot of about Japanese mythology from this game.
Great to see this is getting more content, i would love to play some more in this world.
No surprise, in the next hour it will be added to PS Plus as well.
Game Pass, the 9.99 gift that keeps on giving the whole year.
If you go into this game looking for a single player FPS in a mediocre open world, you'll be pretty happy with this game. Go in expecting more than that and prepare to be disappointed.
I just finished Atomic Heart and as many problems as I had with parts of that game I'd rather replay it than replay Ghostwire
@Serpentes420 I half agree with you on this and the half I agree with is that assessment of Ghostwire. I felt the game was relatively mediocre too. The enemies lacked variety and there was sort of a lack of direction to the game, even though it told you where to go. If you go in expecting a 6/10 game with some interesting art direction that tries to do something a little bit different, you’ll likely be positively surprised. As for me, I preordered the game and I think I got suckered. I love Japanese horror mythology and I honestly think they could’ve done A LOT more with that theme, but that’s my personal taste.
The part I disagree with is on Atomic Heart. I’d take Ghostwire over that one any day, even though that game’s all art direction over substance too. Ghostwire was disappointing for me, but I outright hated Atomic Heart. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you like about the game? I’m legitimately trying to understand the appeal of the title beyond the art direction. There’s few games that have repulsed me so strongly though and I’m trying to understand what others saw in it.
@Lavalera how much into horror it goes?
@somnambulance I like the setting, a couple of the powers, and many of the weapons/upgrades for Atomic Heart. Its a weird game in that I hated it at first, but stuck with it and about half-way through until the end of the game I was pretty much enjoying it for the combat. Its a game I would have been very upset about if I had bought it, but with it being on Gamepass it was OK. I'm also a big fan of weird sci-fi single player shooters in the vain of Bioshock, Prey (more the original than the Arkane game), etc.. so Atomic Heart didn't have to do too much for me to rate it as being worth the play through.
But also please make no mistake, I don't want to replay either Atomic Heart or Ghostwire, but I found Atomic Heart to be the less disappointing of the two.
@Balta666 0 horror in my opinion (even though I wasn't the one you asked). At best there are some side missions that are a little creepy, but it is not a horror game by any stretch of the imagination. It is a straight up shooter with "magic" taking the place of traditional guns.
Excellent. It's got a nice slot along side MC Legends to keep me busy until Redfall.
Just finished the last 2 achvs in Wo Long, pretty great game overall. Diablo 4 the next 2 weekends, Civ 6 until Ghostwire, then Redfall back to D4 until Starfield. That's basically the rest of the year sorted lol
Oh yeah, maybe some Motorsport, Flintlock, Lies of P, Benedict Cumberfox, hopefully Stalker 2
Coming to PS5, PC, and for the first time Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass
I really like the art style of this, will definitely play it.
Glad to see the game supported on all platforms too, regardless of who owns the developer as it should.
@Kaloudz you were so right and I was so wrong on my prediction of a shadow drop in June…
@J_Mo_Money ha it’s $1M in Canadian currency….
Coming to playstation plus as well so this game should see a sharp rise in players. Probably more than it did at launch.
@AlwaysPlaying i get ultimate anyway, so the upper tier. I just wait for every black Friday and get the 3 months of ultimate (usually $45) is around $23 and stock up for a year.
@Balta666 It's not really horror. It does have some creepy creatures and some creepy atmosphere here and there but nothing spooky, no jump scares etc. I'm not the biggest fan of horror games either but this game I loved very much.
Nice, exactly what I predicted, a "definitive edition" sort of update as it launches on Game Pass. Looking forward for this one, I'm a sucker for "mediocre" open world repetitive mind-numbing experiences myself. 🙃
@Kaloudz Excited yes as I heard good things but not Starfield excited lol
@J_Mo_Money Costco in Canada offers a deal as well … so lazy with auto renewal though…
I got this game on PS5 when it came out despite the mixed reviews, and really enjoyed it! It wasn’t life-changing, but a really good solid game with great gameplay, gorgeous visuals, and a decent narrative. Some of the enemies were a bit repetitive, but that’s the only real criticism I had. Well, that plus the really annoying screeching of the tengus. If you haven’t played the game, this won’t make sense; but if you have, you’ll know how annoying the constant loud grating sound of those things is. Hope they’ve toned that down via the update.
Not sure if there’s enough new content for me to play it again on GamePass; but I’d definitely recommend it for newcomers.
@Lavalera thanks. I will give it a go I guess
@Sol4ris
this game is really not a example of how it should be, since its 1 year later on xbox ^^
Played this at a buddy's house last year. This game sucks. But, it's coming to Game Pass so, everyone check it out. Maybe someone else will like it.
