Resident Evil 4 Remake: Headless Statue Puzzle Solution
This next section of the game takes place just after the courtyard maze and requires you to find three statue heads that you'll need to place on the central statue in the main castle hall in order to progress through a locked door.
Let's take a look at how to get all three of these statue pieces.
Snake Head
First up, we're gonna head to the dining room and once there head to the back wall to observe the portraits of a lady and gent sitting down to dinner. Take a look at what each of these people has in front of them and then we want to seat Ashely at the table in the position corresponding to the lady's meal, while Leon matches with the gent.
Once you're both sat down, proceed to ring the bell beside your plate and, if you've chosen the right seats, as shown in our pics above, the cage around the snake's head will raise up allowing you to pick up the first part of this puzzle.
Goat Head
Next up, we're gonna head down one of the corridors on the upper floor of the main hall. You can do these in any order but we've gone with the goat head first.
As you enter this area you'll see your objective straight ahead at the end of a walkway. As soon as you enter this room, however, Ganados will lower the walkway and you'll need to fight them and make your way up to where the lever is that raises it again.
The best way to handle this is keep Ashley close and push forward as quickly as you can, move into the main room at the bottom, grab any ammo that's lying around and blast the Ganados so you can reach the ladder and get up to the main bad guy here. Take him out, making sure that nobody is grabbing and carrying Ashley away as you do so, then dash to the lever to raise the walkway.
Head back down and finish off any remaining enemies. You'll also find a medallion in here towards the back of the bottom area at the end of the walkway. Also note there's a treasure chest under one of the arches of the raised walkway.
Now head up the stairs and around to where you first entered the room and you can move across the walkway to claim your prize. Once you've got it, head out of the area but prepare to face a few Ganados who rush the walkway as you leave.
Lion Head
Our final puzzle piece is along the next corridor through the final open door in the main hall and this time you're going to have to drop down into a pit and fight a bunch of reanimated knights. No sweat.
As soon as you jump into the pit, make sure to gather all the ammo that's lying around in vases and ledges in the arena. Once you're prepped approach the Lion Head and take it. This will set off the enemy attack.
The knights here will attack in small groups, with a total of three waves and the best way to take them out is focus fire on the Plagas tendrils you can see around their neck area. Once you've shot this enough times, they will lose their heads, quite literally, giving you the opportunity to blast the extended tendrils with your shotgun. Flash grenades also work wonders here.
Once you've taken out the first lot of knights, Ashley will discover that blue flames freeze them in place. So, now bait the knights into the blue flame where possible in order to root them to the spot, enabling you to get in a melee attack, then finish off the mutated tendrils with your weapon choice.
These knights are fairly slow-moving and easy to dodge so as long as you're moving around the arena and baiting them into the blue flames you should be done with this fight fairly quickly. Once finished, gather any goodies left behind and make sure to shoot the blue medallion that's hanging over the arena.
Now help Ashley down from the top floor and together you can open up the door out of the arena.
You can now head back to the central statue in the main hall to place each of the heads and proceed on your way. Good job!
