Resident Evil 4 Remake: El Gigante & Armoured El Gigante Boss Battle Guide

This boss battle sees you team up with Luis to take down a pair of El Gigantes in a rather small arena.

The key to this battle is the central fire pit, which can be opened with a lever in order to send either of your foes to their fiery deaths. However, for an achievement and some SP you can also finish this fight without putting either El Gigante in the flames.

First up, we want to focus on the regular El Gigante, shoot him all over and he'll quickly reveal Plagus tendrils on his back. Attack these and you'll get the opportunity to rush in when he's downed to climb on his back and knife him a few times.

Once you've done this, he'll shake you off and we need to rinse and repeat, shooting him all over until the Plagus reappears, then downing him and stabbing again. Do this twice and he'll go down permanently leaving you to focus on his armoured pal.

Circle the arena now, giving yourself plenty of space and making sure you've got all the ammo from crates laying around. Eventually Luis will take off and return with some dynamite. Now, once he chuck the explosives onto your enemy's back you need to shoot them to blow apart his armour and down him. You can now choose to use the fire pit to finish him off take him out in the same manner you did the first boss. It's all up to you!
