Resident Evil 4 Remake: Castle Battlements El Gigante Boss Walkthrough
Once you reach the castle battlements, you'll come face to face with another El Gigante boss. This time you'll be kept at a distance with your enemy throwing huge boulders your way that you'll want to avoid at all costs as they do big time damage.
What we want to do first here, as soon as the cutscene introducing the boss ends, look to the left and jump down off the platform from where you start - there are a few items worth grabbing up here too if you want to risk it - then move along the lower platform as quickly as possible, remembering to use any cover or walls along the way to stop and hide from incoming projectiles.
Once you've reached the end of this corridor make your way through the stone archway ahead and you'll see another small corridor area in front of you with two levels to it and some gates on either end. Switch the nearby levers here to open up a way forward, you'll need to drop down to the lower level to do this, then climb up the ladder in the centre of the area to get back up to the top and continue on your way. Note here that there's some treasure to be had in the lower area before you climb back up the ladder. You'll need to time your ascent of the ladder carefully too as El Gigante's boulders are hitting it at quick intervals.
Once through this part you'll come to an enclosed area where you can take a breather then shoot the yellow daubed counterweight to have the cannon in the centre of the room lift up onto the parapet above. That's right, we're getting ready to teach this huge troll not to throw stones at people.
Now you've got the cannon in place, head on up and time your interaction with it so you don't get hit. Now, target El Gigante and smash him with a cannonball in order to send him plummeting to his doom. Well, sort of, he'll make an attempt to grab you one more time but fail miserably in the process. Bye bye, big boy.
