The Forgotten City (Xbox One)
The Forgotten City takes its inspiration from a mod released for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim back in 2015, although this is very much its own standalone adventure, and it proved to be one of the big surprises of last year, with our 8/10 review here at Pure Xbox calling it "a delightful puzzle box of ideas". It's fair to say we weren't expecting this one to be quite so fantastic, but it ended up being listed on a wide range of GOTY lists.
Travel 2,000 years into the past and relive the final days of a cursed Roman city, where if one person sins, everyone dies.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (Xbox Series X|S)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 are, quite simply, two of the greatest games of all time and on Series X they look and play better than ever before. Pulling off sick tricks at 120FPS in 1080p or 60FPS at 4K, and with a bunch of fancy next-gen graphical bells and whistles adding lots of new atmosphere to runs, there's never been a better time to jump in and start pulling off those Half-Flip Caspers.
The games that defined a generation are back and will blend original levels, classic pro skaters, old-school tricks, iconic songs from the original franchise, and more that fans remember from the ‘90s and 2000’s with added features, HD graphics, new tricks, and iconic controls to provide players with a super awesome gameplay experience

Tunic (Xbox Series X|S)
We've been waiting impatiently for the arrival of Andrew Shouldice's sublime action-adventure ever since we first clapped eyes on it a couple of years ago, and now it's finally here and on Game Pass! Tunic is a fantastically clever adventure with an exquisitely designed world to explore at 60FPS/4K on Series X. It's a great big Zelda-esque puzzle-box to probe and prod at as you progress through a story that's got just the right amount of mystery and intrigue about it to keep you hooked in.
Explore a land filled with lost legends, ancient powers, and ferocious monsters in TUNIC, an isometric action game about a small fox on a big adventure.

Unpacking (Xbox Series X|S)
Witch Beam's Unpacking is all about...well...unpacking, funnily enough. Not so much a puzzle game, this is more of a meditative experience, if you choose to play it that way, a wonderfully relaxing little game that gives you creative freedom to chill into the rhythm of simply unpacking boxes of possessions into rooms however you see fit.
Unpacking is a game about the familiar experience of pulling possessions out of boxes and fitting them into a new home. Part block-fitting puzzle, part home decoration, you are invited to create a satisfying living space while learning clues about the life you’re unpacking. Over the course of eight house moves, you are given a chance to experience a sense of intimacy with a character you never see and a story you’re never told.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Xbox Series X|S)
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is absolutely bonkers, and it's all the better for it! The latest western entry in the series adopts a new RPG combat style which works impressively well, and the game comes with multiple performance modes on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, so you can choose the best setting to suit your preference.
Become Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking yakuza grunt left on the brink of death by the man he trusted most. Take up your legendary bat and get ready to crack some underworld skulls in dynamic RPG combat set against the backdrop of modern-day Japan in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Heh, I forgot Activision and 2K hate Smart Delivery.
I love Gears Of War it's my favorite franchise, But i really didn't like Gears Tactics. I can't stand the Xcom style gameplay they were going for..
Is there a reason why Watch Dogs: Legion is left out? That's one of the only games with ray traced reflections to show off the new hardware. Come to think of it Devil May Cry 5 is left of here too.
Valhalla really is excellent stuff.
Loving Yakuza. I feel that fans of the persona series would have fun with this one. Im about 40 hours in and really enjoying both the gameplay and story. And the mini games are actually fun and worth playing!
Dirt 5 is also a fun racer. Surprisingly colorful for a game called “Dirt”.
Currently about 50 hours deep in Valhalla.
Very good game for action RPG fans and quite a spectacle at times on Series X.
I'd actually suggest people check out the Series X version of Mortal Kombat 11. Visually brilliant and plays beautifully for fighting fans.
I'm waiting to check out 'Call of the Sea' next on Game Pass.
Supposed to feature Ray Tracing and 4K 60FPS. Looks a like a cool Lovecraft style adventure/puzzle game.
A special mention should gone to Hivebusters.
I know only about 4 hours long, but it did show some of what the series x can do.
Hivebusters should have been shown on advertising and pushed a bit more by Microsoft as a little bit of a series x, early showcase.
I can't reccommend Black Ops when it still crashes 3/5 time I try and play it. (Yes I tried no ray tracing, and the stupid "fix") Otherwise the list is good.
I have a top end 65” tv and FH4 and Assassins creed Valhalla look beautiful on series x.
@AJDarkstar @Scenes if you want another Ubi game on the list Immortals: Fenix Rising is much better than Watch Dogs: Legion. Sadly seems not to have sold well, it does a lot right and was a blast
@themightyant that’s on my wish list and will take the plunge when it’s under a tenner. 🙃
No love for The Division 2 lol
I absolutely loved Gears Tactics, @Bmartin001. Really enjoyed the story (such as it was) too, with it giving quite a bit of background to the overall story of Gears. Personally, I really hope they may a second Tactics game. It was brutally hard at points though. I had really hoped to do an Insane run, but even the opening segment was too difficult for me...
