Wow, my Twitter and Facebook are COVERED in pictures of people receiving their Xbox Ones! I'm so jealous!

What are everyone's initial impressions? And which game had the honour of being the first game you played on NextGen (NowGen??) / is going to have the honour when you finally get your paws on your console?

TELL ME ALL!

Liking it a lot, but the servers are causing issues. There are a fair few bugs in the interface as well. Games wise though, once they've installed and loaded, they're pretty awesome. Killer Instinct has gone down well...Ryse is much better than I expected...Need for Speed Rivals is great, but has some framerate issues. Still a bunch to play yet!

Well Kate, the Xbox One is a pretty damn cool piece of hardware and software. The likes of which, no one has probably seen before.

I love it, all of it really. I mean obviously I haven't figured out how to uses everything but what I have used is bloody good haha! The Kinect was surprisingly easy to set up and it is quite responsive. I haven't got the space in my room to play Kinect only games but I have enough room to use the voice and for Kinect to pick me up on video though.

You really notice how much faster things are and how quick you can switch between tasks and obviously the graphics are just gorgeous!

The only game to have entered my Xbox One is the Black Skull Edition of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag I have been waiting to play the single player of ACIV until today and I am glad that I waited. I do appear to be having issues with connecting to Ubisoft's SP server for some reason but not for MP and AC Initiates has sort of connected. It just means I can't get any bonus items yet .

In general things are different everywhere. Like it appears that ( at least for launch, there are no longer mottos or bios ). You only receive notifications for messages or game invites so you can miss people coming online, even if they are in the favourite group.

The pins for a profile are now on the left and I believe you can have about 30.

I still love the new controller apart from the LB/RB buttons. They will take some getting used to! The new 1080p game rpictures you get to choose and use are pretty cool as well.

Is there anything that you or anybody would like to know about in particular?

Is the new controller much different to the old one, then? Or is it just the LB/RB buttons? Just finished watching N1tch's ACIV MP stream on Xbox One and I think he said most of the buttons were the same.

AND ASSASSIN'S CREED IV. HOW SHINY IS IT? REALLY SHINY?

The lightness of it is really impressive, and those buttons are INSANE fun on Forza.

I would say AC4 looks beautiful on XB1, it was already a 9, so the graphics notch it up to 10. Really a perfect game in my opinion. Can't wait for Liberations now.

I've got mixed feelings about the launch, if I'm honest.

Games = top notch. Aces.

Once you get to play them.

Ryse took nearly 2 hours to install, and that's after downloading the 1GB update beforehand. Zoo Tycoon has a 3GB update that you have to download before you can install the game (unless you unplug from the network). Forza and FIFA have finally downloaded (they're provided as game codes if you get them as bundled copies) so I might get to play them today after leaving them downloading overnight. ACIV only has a small update, so installed relatively quickly.

Plus the operating system on the machine is somewhat shaky. Go into the store. Choose a game. Chances are, you won't be able to back out. You'll have to jump back to the main menu, and go into the store front screen again. Can't edit my avatar, as it errors every time. If you press the wrong button when there's a popup on the screen and everything behind it is dimmed, it disappears without making the screen bright again. Tons of little niggles like that.

Like I say - the games are great. The controller is AMAZING, too. So that's all successful. Just that a lot of stuff behind the games could do with a bit of work...

I guess some of that stuff is a given though, since it's the launch and all. There's always a bunch of things that need fixed, whether that be with a game or a console.

As long as you're having fun, then it's all good Those install times are a bit of a derp, though.

ACIV GETTING IT'S WELL DESERVED 10/10 THERE I SEE. BENE. <3

Although i've just forked out for a legendary PC, i'm still tempted to buy an xbone.

I thought the kinect feature was great last time round but it wasn't implemented by developers very well.

The BEST kinect enabled game i've played is the fitness one. yourshape fitness evolved.

the only reason i would "side" with xbone is because i'm already invested in the xbox ecosystem.

i really want to try those new feedback triggers out on a decent racing title too....

anyway kate, thats my two cents.

Hmm unfortunately my opinion of XB1 is changing...after playing for 16 hours straight, it shut itself off then I attempted their troubleshooting with unplugging it and plugging it back in, then it literally smoked...I guess Day One edition means it only works for one day.

Kate, AC is so very shiny and pretty! It was so bad that I crashed the JD into an island, in the middle of a naval battle because I was staring at the beautiful Caribbean Sea! Haha whoops!

Also the controller is definitely an Xbox one but it is new so you do feel the difference. The only button changes ( as in they were on 360 but aren't here ) is that back and start are now view and menu. In some ways they do the same functions start and back did but usually they are very context specific, I mean it depends on what game/app you are using really.

Oh lordie, I crash the Jackdaw enough as it is (10% because I don't watch where I'm going, 90% changing the speed of the Jackdaw to hear Matt say stuff). I don't need more distractions.

Dude, that sucks

Mine turned up with a dead Day One controller. Fortunately I had ordered an extra controller for multiplayer gaming, but still.

Everyone's launch impressions are making me sad I won't be able to get one till next year.

Anyone try the Kinect Sports Rivals demo.

Indeed I did - really good fun. Looking to put it through its paces a bit more this afternoon. Then tomorrow I'm going to try Xbox Fitness. Gulp!

Ha I know, I'm used to it though, the 360 generation put me through 8 consoles (4 within the first year, and 4 throughout the life of it), what is odd is I bought an original xbox from way back when and never had one issue with it, think they went with higher quality back then. Oh well, just have to wait now, I'm going to try to pick up another console on black Friday as this not being able to game deal really sucks.

I did as well, I was more impressed with the accuracy of Kinect, you make a fist to accelerate and open your hand to brake. I knew it was going to be accurate, but this is kind of crazy. The demo itself can become boring though, hopefully they start adding more tracks or something since its only jet ski racing.

Everyone I've shown the Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason demo has been properly impressed with exactly how well it picks up their movements.

Microsoft didn't do enough to highlight that in the build up to the console launch, I feel. People still expect it to "work" like the original Kinect did.
