Folks, I did it. I bought an Xbox Design Lab controller (with my Microsoft Rewards points). And now I'm waiting for you all to tell me how horrible you think this design is
It's about a month until it actually gets shipped out, but I'll post a pic when it arrives. Actually pretty happy with the design - I wanted something bright and bold, and I've definitely got that!
Has anyone else here bought a Design Lab controller before? Were you happy with yours?
@FraserG I think it looks pretty sweet! Did you go for a FraserG - King of Pure Xbox inscription? I think it would top it off quite nicely lol
I don't think I'd be able to chose a good combo for design lab, i'd uhm and ah too much - especially for the price! I think I designed some converse trainers a decade ago in a similar thing that they offered but I never took the plunge and bought them.
But yeah it's a great controller, I love the sort of neon green against the kind of pastel blue, they're great combos. Reminds me a bit of the official grey controller with green trims which would definitely be my next purchase if I take the plunge on another controller!
@ralphdibny Ha! I don't think they let you have that many letters
I debated over the colours for far too long. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like in real life (and whether the bright blue of those thumbsticks will hold up to the rigours of constant use).
@FraserG haha fair enough, well that's a gnarly green anyway, I love it!
I'd slap some stick protectors on them anyway, I've seen many a melting analog stick on other people's controllers so ever since I got my PS4 a few years back, I have made sure there is a protector on all of my sticks!
oh, I like it!! It's very peppy. The light green does a really good job of accenting the blue. And is the d-pad really gold?
Maybe I'll get a controller too (if the sale is still going on).
@FraserG lookin swish, nice etched gamertag too. I wonder if there are any sky blue thumb grips available to protect those sticks!
I did have a look at customising an Xbox pad, only thing I could come up with was orange/blue to match my (not officially but clearly) Goku inspired PS4 controller. And once I had all the additions it was way out of my current price range!
@K1LLEGALhttps://imgbb.com/ upload images there, it's a bit of a faff so I don't know if someone knows an easier way.
Click the URL it generates, right click/hold press the image on that page and open image in new tab. Then copy and paste the URL for that new tab into a reply on this comment between these two tags where it says URL
[img]URL[ /img]
(Take the space out)
I do find if I upload a lot of images, then clicking one of the URLs to open it means I have to start the process again, so I copy and paste the list elsewhere and do this process for each link...
Please somebody tell me an easier way to do this on mobile 😂
