I just had a thought. I have to switch inputs on my monitor to use the Xbox one X because my HDMi splitter won't deliver the 4K signal to the monitor so I've had to assign it its own port. I've looked online and it seems you can use the Xbox one X HDMI input as a passthrough for other consoles.
Does anyone do this or have any experience of it? Would I lose any resolution or framerate or gain any input lag from plugging my switch or PS4 into this port and playing them through the Xbox? Or even plugging the splitter directly into this port instead of the monitor?
Any other pros and cons that I haven't thought of? Can the Xbox one console do any fancy wizardry to up-res these other consoles?
@Tasuki it's not a priority right now. Just wondering if anybody had any experience doing what I've suggested above.
Also I'm thinking in terms of being able to leave the Xbox on so I can download updates and being able to switch back to the Xbox when the updates are finished.
