Hi totally new to gaming and consoles and i have just purchased a Xbox series X .
I have managed to work out the download system from the games pass etc and all is fine ,however i purchased
a xbox one game for the grand children at the weekend Lego Jurassic world and for some reason when i put the physical disc in it will not load or read to show it is installing..The game is free from any scratches marks etc,i have placed it the correct way in and i can also hear the start of it beeping and making a few noises..
I did a quick search and i found that you need to have the box on eco mode and that was already set so failing that not sure why it shouldn't read ..I don't have another disc to tray at the moment although i will in a couple of hours as someone is bringing another old disc from xbox one round.. Could any one help on this issue .Thanks
@den9112 Going on a whim here, but did you insert the disc upside down? The top part of the disc should face left if the Series X is vertical and up if the Series X is horizontal. I remember doing that mistake when I first got my Series X since you typically insert discs in consoles with the top part facing the other direction.
@den9112 It could be you just have a bad disc. There could be a scratch you don't see or a smudge or fingerprint as well. Try cleaning the disc if you haven't already to elimate that problem.

First of all, congratulations on buying a new console. Hope you enjoy it.
I have noticed, however, that the console sometimes takes a little bit of time before it reads the disc you put into the drive. I have been known to eject it, and re-insert the disc, before it even begins to install.
Similar problem, just got Series X. Installed my fave games from disc no probs except Watchdogs (no laughter) and Day Z which had same issue as OP. Even bought a brand new WD and wouldn't read or install. Plenty of room on storage. Disappointed, love WD (no laughter).
Sometimes the XBox has a problem with reading a disc because the cache is full. You can empty the cache by going into the settings and clearing it manually or by doing a full restart (making the Xbox go into standby mode doesn't count).
