I was lucky enough to get 15 ‘Just for You’ deals under the current Ubisoft sale but all these offers are apparently based on a recent purchase I made despite my only recent purchase being Cyberpunk 2077 which is obviously not a Ubisoft game. I wonder who it’s down to who offers these special deals, is it Ubisoft or Xbox?
So with that in mind I’m wondering what other people got, like how many ‘Just for You’ offers and if it led to a purchase.
I’m only interested in buying Far Cry 6 Gold Edition for £8.50 which is under one of the ‘Just for You’ offers I’ve got. I would normally just wait and see if it ends up on Game Pass like Far Cry 5 has but with Ubisoft+ releasing on consoles sometime this year (which will presumably be £12.99 a month like on PC) I doubt they would put any more of their games on a rival subscription service and I also doubt that Ubisoft+ will join GPU like EA Access without GPU going up in price, so I’m thinking the time is now to take advantage of the ‘Just for You’ deals if we want to grab a bargain before they all end up in Ubisoft+ and not on Game Pass.
will now be extra selective what i buy on xbox compared to PS/Nintendo, as theres Potential im getting screwed.
I would say far cry is worth 9. plus even if it came to gp, it would be standard version.... is there much difference to the gold edition you was offered?
I bought FC6 Gold Edition on disc a couple of months after release for less than half the original asking price. Ubisoft games don't hold their 'value' at all and often drop quickly after release. I don't know if Ubisoft+ would be included with GPU, but I would NEVER pay for it separately as they don't release enough games a year to make it worthwhile and given that their games don't hold their price well, I would rather wait for the inevitable price drop. I don't think I have spent more than £50 a year on Ubisoft games so I wouldn't spend £13 a month.
I don't expect that this will be the last time deals are available on their games!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
@stvevan There’s no telling if these ‘Just for You’ offers are exclusive to just Ubisoft games or not. So you may only need to be selective solely on Ubisoft games.
Far Cry 6 gold edition includes Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition but I already own the 360 version and there’s also the season pass where you play each of the 3 villains from the last 3 far cry games but apparently they are just like arena type games so I’m not interested in that, I just want the base game but that’s still selling at £59.99 so obviously gold edition is the one to go for.
I only had 2 offers. 1 for The Division 2 which I already owned fully, so there wasn't really any deal. The other one was to upgrade Watch Dog Legion to the deluxe version.
I was hoping to see Far Cry 6 on a huge deal since i bought 3,4 and 5 not that long ago, but nopes. The GOTY version is still €42. Which is a bit to much for my taste.
@BAMozzy I never buy games at full price these days, especially the state they release in and the fact that some games go down in price within weeks with Gotham Knights being one example.
I really don’t see the point of Ubisoft+ because most of their games are huge open worlds with some that can take 100s of hours to complete if you take your time and complete them to 100%. Like you’ve said the games don’t hold their ‘value’ and can be picked up at less than half price within months after release.
Do you not think when Ubisoft+ launches on consoles that their games will not go on sale as often in the hope that they will attract more subscribers? I at least think they won’t put any more of their games on Game Pass which is why I’m thinking of buying Far Cry 6, I could just rent it but with it being a big game and only costing £8.50 it just makes more sense to buy it so I can play it at my pace rather than rush it before sending it back for another game.
@Lavalera See the last Far Cry I bought was Far Cry 3 Classic Edition in a sale years ago but because you’ve bought the last three Far Cry games you’d think you’d be eligible for the Far Cry 6 gold edition for £8.50 so I don’t understand how they can offer people like me 15 ‘Just for You’ deals when the last and only Ubisoft game I’ve bought this generation was AC Valhalla when I got my Series X over 2 years ago. It just seems wasted them offering me those type of discounts when people like you deserve it more than me. It seems totally random and a lottery for those who do and don’t get the ‘Just for You’ deals.
I had 3 offers, 2 for The Division 2 which I already have all content for and 1 for AC Valhalla complete edition for £22 which I bought for all the DLC content as I already own the base game.
I cashed in £15 of rewards points and paid £7 real money. Recently bought the Ezio Collection in a sale so I assume that had a bearing on my Valhalla offer.
@stvevan Yeah I’m going to buy Far Cry 6 gold edition. I don’t really care about the season pass, same as I’ve not bothered with the season passes from 4 and 5 as they don’t add anything to the existing story, they are more like silly spin offs and I’ve not heard great things about them.
@Shigurui If I didn’t already own AC Valhalla I’d of definitely got the complete edition for £22 for all the DLCs but I’ve barely made a start since buying the base game over 2 years ago, so I doubt I’d even get around to the DLCs when I’ve not even made an effort with the base game for so long.
@MaccaMUFC I think Ubisoft will remain a Sales Driven company and see Subscriptions as a secondary income stream with the 'aim' to sell. They have MTX's, DLC etc and would use Subs more to get people playing to 'buy' extra content and more likely to 'buy' extras on something they own so I still expect them to have sales as they still will want to 'reach' people.
I doubt that 20m+ people would subscribe to Ubisoft+ to offset the drop in sales revenue to generate the 'income' Ubisoft wants, to try and 'reach' as many people as possible, to get them into their 'store' to buy MTX/DLC etc.
MS still has sales and offers a decent 'discount' on Game Pass games to encourage you to 'own' your games - even if you can play them indefinitely via a Subscription. They probably know that some people will spend 'money' to own the games they really like, support the devs with a purchase etc.
That's just 'considering' Digital only, but Physical retailers too have 'physical' stock that they will want to shift. If people aren't buying so much - opting to 'wait' for sales or using Sub services to play, they are going to drop the price quicker to clear their stocks - competing with each other on prices as they get fewer and fewer sales.
A few years ago, I was strictly a Physical purchaser. The 'ONLY' digital games I owned were the GwG/PS+ games and a couple I bought for literally 'loose change' money. But with games being released 'too soon' and the disc had to be manufactured before launch, the game code on disc is useless, unplayable mess - if you get the 'whole' game on Disc. Buying digital generally means you get the 'latest' code whenever you buy/download and, with Xbox, could be playable on PC too.
In terms of 'preservation', buying on disc is less likely to be advantageous in the future. Imagine in the future when Xbox One is no longer 'online' and you decide to try and play Cyberpunk2077 after installing from Disc. So many games these days are releasing with major issues, requiring months of patches and work to get them up to a reasonable standard. Even those that are decent still tend to have a Day 1 patch to 'fix' minor issues. So many games also release with 'little' content and 'promises' to bring content on a regular basis over time so you pay the most and get the 'least' on disc...
I am buying FAR less games at launch now than I ever have. This is predominantly down to the state of games at/near launch and the increased price we are being asked to pay. Add in the fact that the 'new' generation consoles are Backwards Compatible, so launched with hundreds of playable games, some of which are still in my backlog to finish, I am not so 'desperate' to have something to play and can buy 'cheap' older games in sales to play too until 'new' games are Patched and drop in Price. Add Game Pass Ultimate into the equation, and I have access to 'hundreds' of games I could play without spending ANY money, so a 'new' release is competing with a large 'library', has to 'justify' why I should spend £70 to play it day 1 over playing ANY of the other options I have. Why pay £70 to play a Broken messy game when I can play an older 'patched' game in a sale, in a Sub service etc for a LOT less, even 'nothing'...
Every game has its Price point to tempt me. FC6 tempted me during Black Friday for example but if I didn't own it, £8.50 would tempt me to buy it digitally - especially with over 140k reward points I could convert to pay for it. I got AC:Valhalla as part of my Day 1 Series X bundle and added the Season Pass afterwards. I completed 'everything' in the base game and the first couple of DLC's up to the Paris one. I think that's the 'only' Ubisoft games I have bought this 'gen'. I bought the Gold edition of FC5 too on XB1, did 'everything' in the base game but didn't really bother with the DLC's. I spent at least 100hrs - if not a lot more on AC:V in these so I would say they are worth the current asking price - even if you just play the main Story and don't bother doing all the Side quests...

@MaccaMUFC Yeah it's a crazy good deal, I own the base game on disc which I bought for pennies so I'll give that copy to my brother, think I paid about £15 for it so no real loss there. Happy to get every bit of content for the £7 I paid for it.
I don't know, but this whole thing just seems...odd.
Like many of you have said here, I only got one "Just for You" deal and it was on AC:Origins, which I already own fully having bought the complete edition on a classic Ubi sale. So, no real deal.
So, I am really curious about the criteria behind all this "Just for You" deals...
FWIW, I would have loved a deal on Far Cry 6, Ubi!
Does anyone have any ‘just for you’ deals within the 2K Publisher Sale? I don’t have any but I’m wondering if the special offer extends to another publisher sale or if it’s just exclusive to the Ubisoft one.
I’m eyeing up the AC Odyssey gold for £10.40 because I know how good of a deal it is but I’ve barely started Valhalla in over 2 years. I’m going to download Odyssey from Game Pass and see how I get on with it then make a decision whether to buy it or not. The sale is over in 4 days and I doubt those of us who have the ‘just for you’ deals are going to get a chance to buy these games any cheaper again.
@GarbonZoni Did you end up getting Wildlands? It’s definitely worth £3.30 and even I enjoyed it playing solo but it is best to play with other people. It has matchmaking incase you don’t have anyone on your friends list who plays it but I don’t know if there’s many people online playing the game these days as I haven’t been on it since it released.
@MaccaMUFC. Cheers. I was mainly thinking for the single player , not many of my pals online these days. I think for the price I will probably get it. The Clancy games usually have a good fleshed out single player mode.
