Topic: The Final Fantasy Thread

Welcome all Final Fantasy fans!

Final Fantasy VII Remake is out today, officially. I just checked the cover and it says "PlayStation exclusive. Play first on PS4. Timed exclusive until 10 April 2021". Although we knew it was a timed exclusive, I think that the banner on the cover looks really awful. So next year we'll see the Series X version without the banner and better visuals and performance. Are you going to get that version or do you want to play right now on a PS4? I will wait for the Series X release. What Final Fantasy game are you playing now on Xbox?

@BlueOcean just a quick FYI, they haven't confirmed what other systems it's coming to yet just that it's only exclusive to PlayStation 4 until next year, for all we know it could just mean a PS5 version is coming so i would say that while it's likely a XBOX version is in the works that we don't assume it is until it's actually confirmed otherwise you're just setting yourself up for disappointment

as for waiting hell no i have waited long enough and i'm not waiting for a potential XBOX release, i brought it on PS4 but i'll probably get a XBOX version too IF one is released just like i did with FFXV

also there is no banner, it was a sticker on the outside shrink wrap, at least in the UK

also i was playing XV on xbox (platinumed the PS4 version and now working on the 10000 Gamerscore for the XB version) and XIII but now Remake is out i'll be concentrating on that

Considering that all Final Fantasy games since VII are or will be on Xbox I think it's safe to say that VII Remake will be released too. When I say "banner" I don't mean you're stuck with it forever and obviously not relevant if you get the digital version, I just said it's awful because it is.

I'll wait if it comes to Xbox next year. I don't have PS4 and not gonna get one. I have heard that it is very good game. I loved (and still love) original VII, one of my all time favourite games.

@Justifier i am a few hours in and i can say it's absolutely amazing, the world looks fantastic, the characters are great (Voices are really good too) and the battle system is fun

BUT i'm a huge FINAL FANTASY fanboy so i'm not sure if my opinion holds much water, i might be a little biased

The last one I played was XV on Xbox One X and it's one of the most beautiful games that I've ever played. I liked the gameplay and the story, I only found minor things to complain about. I have also played I (GBA) on 3DS, a history lesson by today's standards. I played VII on Windows when I was a kid and also IV on DS and X/X-II on PS4 (X is awesome, X-II is silly). I love having them all (except the NES and SNES games) on Xbox with cloud saves and the best (in my opinion) controller.

I want to play XIII soon because it has the cut scenes remastered on Xbox One S and X (a nice upgrade that Square Enix made for Xbox One) and of course the other titles. I have played every Kingdom Hearts game during this generation so I have done some Square Enix backlog homework already.

I'll wait for FFVIIR on SeX. I mean, 4K@60fps with ALL textures included at launch, how can you go wrong? 😂
