So I was thinking to myself the other day about old games that I wish would make a comeback. There are many franchises that have been either cancelled or that have remained dormant for a very long time. Old titles that might have been gone due to publishing rights or just whatever the case may be. I remember writing and emailing Rare so many times about bringing back Killer Instinct. I didn't think it would happen and then E3 2013 came around. So just for fun I am interested in seeing what you guys can come up with and what old franchises you would like to see make a comeback. I would suggest anything that hasn't made an appearance in at least 5 years but I guess anything is up for discussion. Here are some of the games on my wishlist:
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Fight Night
Splinter Cell
Dead to Rights
NFL Blitz
MLB Slugfest
Fuzion Frenzy
Legacy of Kain would be one. They were good games for the most part and I loved their story it's just a shame that they screwed it all up with Spinoffs and such.
TMNT Beat em Ups — I know we have had TMNT games but I am talking about the beat em ones like Turtles in Time, The Original Arcade, and Manhattan Project. Especially with games like River City Girls and Streets of Rage 4 being so popular now just seems the perfect time to bring back the beat em up TMNT games
Sierra City Builder Series — This one was a PC game franchise it was a series of City build games like SimCity but were based on historical eras. You had Caesar which was Roman, Pharaoh which was Egyptian, Zeus which was Greek and Emperor which was Chinese. I wish we could have got more like maybe a Viking one, Japanese etc. Hopefully they will revive the franchise.
Chrono — One of my favorite RPGs of all time. Loved Trigger wasn't that big on Cross but would really hope they would bring this franchise back so we can get Chrono Break.

@CedAlastor i had to look this one up. Interesting that it's made by Sega with all these Sega and xbox rumors that have been going on. @leathco I also had to look up blood wake. I never played that one. MechAssault is a classic!
This is going to be dumb but NFL2k when ea had competition the games were better. I would love to see SNK do a remake of crystalis my first rpg. Genghis Khan strategy games were a lot of fun also.
The one that I really would love though is a shadowrun remake from the Genesis days I started playing it today again it is so great.
I think cyberpunk will bring some of that back for me.
@VisitingComet1 Wanting NFL 2K back isn't dumb, it's still regarded as the best football game made. You know EA was scared because the made that deal with the NFL which makes it so no other company can make a sim Football game. I still fire up my Dreamcast to play a game of NFL 2K.

I would agree with NFL2K as long as it retained all the playability that the original had. That was a franchise that was stopped in its prime.
Rallisport challenge 2 is one of my favourite games from the original Xbox era. It was great arcade fun and I would at least hope it could be backwards compatible in the future.
PGR deserves a reboot. While Forza Horizons has taken many of PGRs ideas I miss a defined race track around great cities and the pure joy of sliding about just for grins! Just imagine the levels of detail possible now.
@Misterp180 I was actually thinking about PGR when I made my list but decide against it cause of Forza Horizon. For me Forza Horizon is close enough to PGR to calm any cravings I might get for PGR.

@Tasuki I know where you are coming from but PGR locked you into the city street racing. Hammering down the Embankment or twisting through the streets of San Francisco.
I would love to see what they could do with the modern systems in creating those environments now.
They could sneak a new Geometry Wars cabinet in the garage for good measure!
NFL 2K is a good one. I agree Madden needs competition. I haven't touched a Madden in years! I considered PGR too. I know Forza is Xbox's bread and butter racing game, but I enjoyed PGR more back in the day. A new Geometry Wars would be awesome!
I will go ahead and put Killer Instinct on this list as well. It's been about 4 years now since season 3 was released and as far as I know Iron Galaxy isn't working on a sequel. I honestly think the team might have been gassed towards the end. Maybe a hiatus is a good thing for them.
Top Spin is another game I wish would come back. I haven't liked a Tennis game since Top spin left.
I think a new Metal Slug would be neat as well. I had so much fun with those as a kid.
@MAC26 Unfortunately due to the exclusivity rights EA made with the NFL a traditional competition for Madden can't be made. I know 2K tried to make a game called All Pro Football 2K after EA got the exclusive rights to the NFL but without the NFL Licensing (and the fact it used older players) the game didn't sell well.
The closest that I found to a NFL game is Mutant Football League which is suprisnigly good. You can set the options to make it as realistic as a Madden game (no field hazards, players don't die etc) or as arcadey as you want. The do have spoofs of all the players like O'hell Wreckham Jr, The Sherminator etc for example and they do use their stats of the players they are based on. Highly suggest it if you want a non Madden football game. They are continually updating it too plus you can get it cheaper then Madden. Not only that but every year they do an update to reflect the current NFL season, for example Tom Brady is no longer on the New England team he is now on the Tampa Bay team. So you don't have to buy a copy every year. Really suggest looking into it if you want a good football game.

@Tasuki I had actually looked into that game not too long ago because I saw it was on sale. I added it to my wishlist and forgot to look up a review for it. I ended up missing the sale and forgot about the game. It originally interested me because I'm a big fan of NFL Blitz and it seemed to have some similarities from what I had seen, but I will definitely go give it another look since you say the settings can be changed. Thanks for that!
@MAC26 Yeah it is definitely worth the price, and as I said the variety of options is great. On one hand you can set it where the players can actually get killed by brutal over the top plays like NFL Blitz or you can have it has realistic as say Madden.
I actually have the game on all three systems, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch. On the PS4 I have a regular Mutant Football League season going with dirty plays, field hazards and the players Hit points turned on for a more arcade style game, while on the Xbox I have the options like dirty plays and field hazards off along with no player deaths and play that one like I would Madden.
It's also a great game to play with friends.

@Tasuki sounds good, i will have to check it out and if I decide to purchase it I'll give you a request so we can play and you'll probably kick my ass lol. @crippyd yea man we definitely need that franchise back. Which one is your favorite? @VenomousAlbino i have never played it, is it more of an arcade style of racing game?
@MAC26 I think my favourite is Pandora Tomorrow. The later games seemed to go more towards pure shooters rather than the sneaking about. They are still enjoyable games, don't geet me wrong, but I prefered the sneaky style of that one.
