So I recently started playing Knights of the Old Republic man it is still good today.
the one problem i had back in the day was the loading times on the series x its super fast. The games story and even combat are still really good I am close to the end now thinking I will play the Sith Lords next.
What are some older games you still play that are just as good today as they were back then?

Geometry Wars Retro/Evolved has kept me coming back, although I seem to have hit a ceiling score-wise. On the whole, I find the games that hold up best are the ones that relied least on their graphics at the time.

@Old_Man_Harper I think the best part of kotor is the story was just really good. The graphics in todays terms are pretty terrible but good enough. The combat can be wonky some times but man I am just surprised how good it still is.

Another game that really holds up today that I was playing not to long ago is pillars of eternity its just good,

If you like KotoR I highly suggest Jade Empire. It to holds up really well and it's was made by the same team. It too holds up well to this day as I still play it regularly on my Series X.

Max Payne 3 still looks and plays great.

Super Mario World is still amazing too!

one game I play every year or two that holds up great is Morrowind. sure the mechanics are wonky but as far as go do your own thing without hand holding it's great. The fact that you have to find quests and pay attention is great and the final boss when you enter his level is really memorable.

Banjo-

Super Mario World, still the best Mario game, and the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy.

Tough topic for me to answer. Thereโ€™s hundreds of old games I can verify still holds up, and many of them are ones I like to. Tons of platformers and old shooters are still great. Older JRPGs are arguably more fun for me than newer ones. Nevertheless, Iโ€™d go with GTA, Musous, Max Payne and Ratchet & Clank for my usual off the gate picks.

Played through Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) over the last couple of weeks. Absolutely superb game, one of the best I've played. 2007 I think?

Still very much holds up!

@Dimey I did the same with mass 1 it's so good the only bad part of that game was the elevator loading times and the legendary fixes that. I still don't like 2 and have never played 3
