Topic: FIFA 15 all digital licenses revoked (XB1)

With the latest dash updated I noticed that there was an exclamation mark against my digital copy of FIFA 15 and sure enough when starting it the screen asking me to install the disk or buy a licence came up

I tracked through my emails & found the MS email receipt from 19/9/14 - so I definately bought it digitally on this XBox account

After a week of calls with Support, they have told me that the game has been "delisted & removed" and that as a result my license has been revoked and when asking was told ALL DIGITAL LICENSES FOR THE GAME HAVE BEEN REMOVED, ie no-one's digital copy will now work, even offline and it cannot be redownloaded as it no longer shows up in your purchase history

WHAT ??!!??

Surely this is not correct as even delisted games you still have the rights to it - this is something I paid for in full back in 2014. I know it is a license I paid for but this has been revoked without any notification in a very dodgy manner and even though installed on my designated home console it will not work

There was rightly a backlash when the free demo of PT on PS4 was delisted & licenses revoked but could still be played if you had it installed; that was free, this is something I paid full price for and even though installed on my home console it no longer works

I am raging as with a large collection of digital games this really worries me that games can be deactivated like this even though you have it installed. It is not even about the game but the principal MS can do this with games in your library

@GlasgowGuy If the license was revoked, that is more EA then MS since it's their game. I am wondering if this is true for the PS4 version as well.

@GlasgowGuy to be fair it does not surprise me as publishers have small print allowed for that and actually I am not even sure you will be able to play a physical version of the same game on Series systems as in general for backwards compatibility they require a check online. And yes it is full BS

I wonder if this has happened with previous Fifas but no one has noticed? after all, it seems like you were only tipped off by the Xbox UI.

In actuality, no one has "rights" to any game they purchase from any digital storefront. They allow you to use that content as long as they deem fit. Its all there listed in the fine print.
