There was a Yakuza 6+ thread that's been archived but I thought it might be worth making a more general thread anyway. A place to discuss all games by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio including Yakuza, Like A Dragon, Judgment, Fist of the North Star etc.
I've been playing through Like a Dragon Gaiden for the last few days. I'm still only on chapter 2 but I've been working my way through the Akame network!
It's good to be back with the main series again. I tried playing Fist of the North Star after I finished Yakuza 7 but it was hard to motivate myself to keep playing it so it's been unfinished for like a year. Maybe I'll try and finish it over Xmas
Quickly become one of my favourite series of all time. Completed all the main line games including Gaiden, as well as Judgment. So only Lost Judgment and Ishin on my to-do-list (not bothered about FotNS).
I played the first couple Yakuza games back on the PS2 years ago but once the series hit PS3 I didn't play them again till a few years ago when the were released on the Xbox. I have yet to play the Like a Dragon series but I have been thinking about starting it up the only thing is I have heard it plays more like a turn based RPG now rather then an action game. With that being said how difficult is it? Also does it play better as an RPG?

@K1LLEGAL sorry I didn't see this question! Yeah I finished Gaiden back then and loved it. I didn't do the few substories you unlock towards the end because they just seemed overly tough but I did all the akame network except for the pocket circuit fighter stuff
@Tasuki I can't remember how difficult like a dragon was tbh, I think it is the same as the others where you have to level up your characters in whatever way the game allows. I don't remember it being too difficult if I'm honest.
It is very similar to the other Yakuza games though, it just has turn based battles instead of action battles. I think it's all explained well enough during play, I didn't have any trouble with it.
I picked up Yakuza 0, really looking forward to playing that this year, seems like a good entry point for the series. The newer turn based games look fun too, assuming I can just jump straight into them? Don't have a spare 800 or so hours to play through everything!!
I started playing it tonight and so far I am enjoying the game. Just got to the part where the main character (sorry don't remember his name at the moment) just got out of prison.

Got through the first "dungeon" which was some sewers to sneak into a building. Not to bad but I stopped before I actually entered the building because it was late and I was a huge battle vibe. I will be picking it up tonight and since I have tomorrow off from work, I will be able to play a bit later tonight.

Currently in Chapter 4, did a part of the main story. Right now I am focusing on side quest, which I just unlocked Dragon Kart. One question I have is how/where do you go to craft weapons. I have a ton of materials but no idea how to use them.
