Topic: Buying digital from the US store with a UK account.

If theres already a thread for this , sorry folks.

I have a uk xbox. If i buy a gift voucher in dollars, change my region to the US, then buy a game from the US store. Will i be able to play the game when i change region back to the UK?

Do i need to make a US account and do the account share thing.

I used to do this all the time and it worked fine. The only issues I had were with 360 backwards compatible games that weren’t available in the UK (some spongebob game). That had to be played whilst on the US region.

However I did stop doing this as I didn’t want to risk my account being banned when it probably has £10k worth of games on it 😂

So i’m not suggesting you do it. But it has worked for me just fine. 🤷‍♂️

Cheers for the answer pal. I want Dangun Feveron and Battle garegga. both were xbox 1. Not through back compat, they were outright releases. But i suppose they would be playing them on Series x.
Will prob hold off.
