What in your opinion is the best looking game so far on Xbox Series X? My vote goes to Assassins Creed Valhalla, closely followed by Forza Horizon 4. Needless to say there are probably going to be games I haven’t got/played that may look better, but that’s my vote(s) so far.
Out of the ones I've played, probably Assassin's Creed Valhalla or Gears 5. It's really close since both look great on the system. I will have to hand it to Gears 5's much improved lighting, but I'm going to still say it's pretty much a tie.
The also already mentioned Forza Horizon 4 also looks damn good as well, but I'd maybe put it 3rd. I haven't played Watch Dogs: Legion. From what I've seen about it online though, that'd probably be first if I had played it, but that's technically not the question.
After playing even more of it today, I take back what I said previously. Gears 5 is the best looking game on the Series X so far. The level of detail along with the already mentioned much improved lighting makes it quite a sight to behold most of the time.

Dirt 5. I played it on Series S and Series X, it doesn't look amazing except the first time I played on Series X I was glued to the level of detail my car's textures had. And I've only yet played it on a 1080p screen.
Series S sucks. I only like how the box looks, it's the best looking console I've had, otherwise it sucks. I sold my Series S.
I haven't played Valhalla, but it looks good in videos.
I think Gears 5 is one of the best looking games out there on any system. I think the Coalition stacks up favorably to any of Sony’s big time studios, and I think their graphic artists are criminally underrated. Just my opinion.
"Good looking" for me doesn't neccessarily mean "realistic". In that context the most beautiful games i've played so far on Series X are Doom Eternal and Immortals Fenyx Rising.
On XSX: RDR2, Gears Hivebusters (looks noticeably better than the base game), FH 4. RDR2 and Hivebusters looks as good as anything on competing platforms. FH 4 is just hands down the best looking racer anywhere until FH 5 comes.
Games coming soon: Stalker 2, FH 5, MS Flight Sim, FC 6
If you include PC: RDR2, Gears H, FH 4, Flight Sim, Metro EE, Ryse, Hellblade, Fallen Order, Battlefront 2015, PvZ 3, Minecraft RT, Battlefield 5, Doom E, Cyberpunk. Some of these might apply on Xbox too but I play most of these on PC, so not sure how the fidelity compares on Xbox.
@SpacemanJupiter Yeah, after playing through Hivebusters the the last two days, I'd agree on that one. I picked Gears 5 earlier in the thread, but my new pick would have to be Hivebusters. I know it's just DLC, but still, it really looks like a true next gen game. The base game looked really good, but I was blown away while playing Hivebusters.

Hivebusters was a stunning game (as was gears 5) but I really didn’t get on with it much. It was over in about an hour and a half. But I’m also glad it wasn’t longer, the gears gameplay just feels very dated to me.
I say that as a long time Gears fan, Gears 1 was the reason I bought a 360 after “roadie running” at a friends house. But it really hasn’t evolved much in 6 entries.
Personally I’d love to see this talented team finish the fight (sic) with Gears 6 and then more onto new IP, or a complete rethink of gears.
(Referring to the campaign btw, don’t do multiplayer)
Forza Horizon 5 is the best looking game so far. Stalker 2 looked really great too. I do really like the visual style in Halo Infinite as well, but that's more of a style issue rather than technical issue.
Forza Horizon 4 was a marvel and is still the best looking game I've seen on Xbox
(I am biased - I have family from Broadway in the Cotswolds, the first town in the game, I know it so well and it's visibly Broadway, with a few artistic and gameplay sensible changes.)
Forza Horizon 5 just blew that out the park. Hopefully it WILL look that good (no reason to think not, but i'm always a sceptic based on the long history of Bull shots)
Stalker 2 again stunning.
Also like the the style of Halo Infinite, and as much as I love shiny new graphics good Artistry is ALWAYS better than pure Graphical fidelity (you can have both)
But Flight Sim is where my heart is. I cannot wait to TRAVEL the world (digitally)
I actually liked Horizon 4 for the exact same reason. Except not because of Broadway. Because of the Lake District. My family went on holiday to Keswick every year when I was a kid, so I know that whole area very well.
@Dezzy They've been there for well over a hundred years, so WELL before it got pricey... but yes probably!
I know the UK didn't resonate with everyone globally, but it was great to see ol' Blighty look so authentic, from the Lakes to Edinburgh and beyond... and the 4 seasons were great.
