This is designed to be a real puzzler, a thought provoker and hopefully a conversation starter: Can you name your top 10 songs of all time? If you were to be stuck on a desert island, whcih 10 songs could you listen to again and again without going crazy?

red, your list of ten has 11 tracks so I'll sneak one in as well...
Arguably one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, Johnny Cash and his cover of the wonderful Nine Inch Nails track.... Hurt. At one point, Bono was at his house for dinner, Johnny said a wonderful grace then whispered "sure do miss the drugs though".
For Whom The Bells Toll - Metallica
In the Ghetto - Elvis Presley
Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
New Divide - Linkin Park
Heart Shape Box - Nirvana

not sure if I'll list ten (might do less or more) but here are some songs I really like.
Trapped In The Closet Chapter 19

keri baby - hannah diamond / ag cook
repeat pleasure by how to dress well

I could keep listing songs for the next 10 days so I'm going to stop. These were just random songs I thought of when I went "what do I like?" so this isn't near a definitive list. Not even sure any of these would make a top 50 list but I'll never do a proper list since it'd take a year to figure out
Well here's my list
A change is gonna come - Sam cooke
American Pie - Don McLean
Back Stabbers - O'Jay's
Can't you see - The Marshall Tucker Band
Woke up this morning - A3(Alabama3)
Hold the Line - Toto
For what it's worth - Buffalo Springfield
Take it to the limit - The Eagles
Midnight Special - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Old Time Rock and Roll - Bob Seger
Wow i can't relate to anyone on this thread! Well it's good to be different.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
I'm currently playing Faith The Unholy Trinity, Dead Space( remake), Crow Country and Steel Rising.
Well here's my list

Back Stabbers - O'Jay's

Woke up this morning - A3(Alabama3)

Old Time Rock and Roll - Bob Seger
Wow i can't relate to anyone on this thread! Well it's good to be different.
Most of those are classics, I'd have gone with night moves for Mr Seger but.....
Here's a different take.. One up mix one down mix from every decade of my life that I found musically interesting although the 80's/90's was a stretch.
UP Mix
Eddy Cochran - Summertime blues (50's)
Who - I can see for miles (60's)
Roxy Music - Virginia Plain (70's)
Stone Roses - fool's gold (80's)
Snap - The Power (90's)
Down Mix
Peggy Lee - fever (50's)
Beatles - Norwegian wood (60's)
Leonard Cohen - Suzanne (70's)
Ultravox - Vienna (80's)
Nine Inch Nails - Hurt (90's)
Well this is just a nasty thread that will break my brain.
And in fact, that's exactly what it did. I picked about five tracks and then decided to run through my iTunes library and...well...came up with about 30 tracks for A and B.
I just can't do it. Might have to do a "genres" or decades list.
Man... This sucks! How am I supposed to choose, lol.
Let's see, off the top of my head...
American Pie - Don McLean The Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas You Can't Always Get What You Want - Rolling Stones I Touch Myself - The Divinyls Back in Black - AC/DC Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard Breakdown - Guns n' Roses Changes - Black Sabbath Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Well to save my tiny brain, I have cheated. Here's my top 10 most listened to (according to iTunes):
1. Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold
2. Through Glass - Stone Sour
3. I Miss You - Blink 182
4. Street Spirit (Fade Out) - Radiohead
5. Psychosocial - Skipknot
6. The Rock Show - Blink 182
7. Welcome to the family - Avenged Sevenfold
8. All the small things - Blink 182
9. crushcrushcrush - Paramore
10. What's my age again - Blink 182
I'm quite surprised at some of these, but I do tend to put my top 150 played songs on shuffle while working. I do think iTunes has reset a couple of counters as I don't see any RHCP's, Greenday, or Foo's, which all feature a lot in my top 150.

@Captain_Chao5 Lots of Blink on your list. It's weird β Blink's self-titled album is one of my favorite albums of all time, but I'm not sure any of the songs would make my list of top 10 songs. Same goes for a few of my other favorite albums. I think a truly great album is all about cohesion; a bunch of songs that fit together as equals as opposed to there being songs that clearly stand out from the rest. I'm guessing that's why I couldn't pick favorites from any of the below-mentioned albums. I mean, I could, but it doesn't feel right to separate them. Oh, hell. I'll try anyway.
Suburbia I've Given You All And Now I'm Nothing by The Wonder Years
(Came Out Swinging, Don't Let Me Cave In)
In Utero by Nirvana
(All Apologies, Serve The Servants)
Self-titled by Blink 182
(Obvious, Violence)
Farm by Dinosaur Jr.
(I Want You To Know, See You)
Decomposer by The Matches
(Didi My Doe Part 2, You (Don't) Know Me)
Feel Good Ghosts by Cloud Cult
(No One Said It Would Be Easy, Hurricane And Fire Survival Guide)
Now I just need to assess whether or not any of these songs (other than All Apologies) will make my list. Doubt it, though.
Unless someone else beats me to it (which is perfectly fine), I'll make a topic for "Top 10 Albums of All Time" later today.
@DRL - That's not my all time top 10. I was lazy and just listed the top 10 from iTunes, which in turn is taken from my top 150 most played songs - most of which are played on shuffle in a playlist while I'm at work.
My actual top 10 would probably include:
Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
Don Henley - Boys of Summer
RHCP - Californication
Foo Fighters - All My Life
I'll have to give this serious consideration now Update to follow.
