Topic: Gaming/Media set ups....

This is a thread to post details of your gaming/media set up.

Currently I have a PS4, Xbox One with Kinect, PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles all set up although due to limited HDMi inputs I can't keep all connected to my TV. I have also plugged in a Seagate 5TB Expansion to my Xbox One to increase storage. In reality I never use my last gen consoles now so may end up setting them up in the bedroom when I move my TV to there after my replacement arrives.

My TV is a wall-mounted Samsung LN46A650 Series 4 1080p but this is due to be replaced in the next week (arriving Saturday) for a Samsung UE55HU7500 4k 3D UHD TV. I would be interested to know if anyone else has a 4k TV and how it affects gaming. I also intend to try 3D gaming to see how that changes things.

I also have a Sky+ HD Set Top Box (also connected to my BT Home Hub 5.0 Broadband for on-demand) and a Samsung HT-TZ315 Home Theatre System which also doubles up as my CD music system.

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

In my study, Xbox, xbox one and pc connected to a 31" monitor. Surround system for gaming. For music, Rokit krk5's and sub (studio monitors) running off a DAC from PC.

In the lounge, Xbox one and Wii connected to a 40" lg3d tv and a soundbar/sub combo.

I have an Xbox 0ne attached to a cheap ass 37" telly in the living room. I'm not allowed to have any other consoles.

I have a One and 360 connected in our living room and we also have a Wii (not connected), Gamecube for the kids and a PS1 in my garage somewhere. My TV is a 40" Sony of a 2010 vintage (can't remember the model number) and I have an Audiolab 8000S and a pair of 8000M monoblocs (of 90's vintage) and Castle Avon floor standing speakers, with a MJ Acoustics Ref 100 MK1 sub. I would post a pic but don't know how to get it from my phone to the site here.

I did away with a lot of my stuff and kept the things that I can fit in my lounge.

My setup looks like this.
Untitled

Panasonic TX50-A4008 screen mounted on a stand/unit combo that I fashioned that turns through 60 degrees so I can watch the hockey while I'm working at the computer (which is to the left of the edge of the photo.)

  • Xbox One (w/Seagate 3TB external drive), Wii U, PS4, Xbox 360 S
  • Charging stands for XO, PS4, and 360 (360 one is up on the shelf) - hate having charging cables all over the place
  • Xbox 360 "Debug" unit is down behind the TV, practically untouched
  • Original Xbox, PSOne connected via upscaler
  • Custom arcade cab containing a gaming PC (and emulators, of course!) and Dreamcast connected via a Hanzo VGA Scanliner

The Traps E500 drums that I use for Rock Band have been temporarily moved to the spare room to make way for the arcade cab.

The one In the lounge isn't a console. It's a device for skype grandchildren and watching Amazon prime. The fact that I occasionally use it for gaming is purely coincidental 😃😃😃😃😃

I have a 48 inch Vizio LCD tv that my Wii U, PS4, Wii and OUYA are hooked up to, I also have a Roku stick hooked into it too.

For my older consoles I have a CRT tv which I will have a SNES, PS2, Dreamcast, N64, and Sega Genesis/Sega CD hooked up to. Just need to find the time to move some furniture and hook everything up.

I used to have a pair of Castle's. They were great speakers in their day.

I would post a picture of our set-up... but I'm not gonna.

Basically we've got a room we call "the study" but, truth be told, it's more of a play room - we've got all the consoles (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and One) as well as the gaming PC in there, all hooked up to two different screens so that we can play side by side.

We only use the room when we're playing or streaming and right now it's stuffed with cables, studio lights, mics and stuff that I don't even know why it's in there to start with. It's a mess, simply put. Luckily, the green screen covers the mess when we're streaming, haha.

Well I moved my 46" TV to the bedroom and plugged in my last gen consoles (PS3, XB360) and thought I would set up the Sky App on my 360 so I had some method of watching TV - only now Sky have decided to start charging for the option to watch Sky via console - an extra £5 per month!! I can watch Sky at no extra charge anywhere on Mobile/Tablet and/or Laptop but no longer on my console without paying extra.

Yep, that really wound me up. I haven't got Sky as I don't watch TV usually, but I was using one of my mum's Sky Go licences on Xbox 360 for the odd football match on Sky Sports. All of a sudden, doesn't work anymore and they want a fiver to use it. Like you say, using it on tablet, phone, or laptop is free. Makes absolutely no sense.

I suppose its cheaper than 'Multi-room'. Still doesn't make sense though that I could plug my tablet, phone, laptop into my TV and watch that way for nothing. I know changing channels etc would be a pain compared to an Xbox controller though. Oh well I will have to stick to things like iplayer then...

Well got my retro set up going this past weekend I gotta say AV switch boxes are a retro gamers best friend. I even went to a retro game store the other day to pick up some goodies, which were

N64
WCW/NWO World Tour and Revenge

Sega Genesis
Batman
Streets of Rage 2

Think tonight I will play some MSR on the Dreamcast.

You've got quite the lineup there for a weekend. WCW/NWO World Tour is kickass. Throw in Streets of Rage 2 and MS-R and boom...party time.

Aww, that sucks :/

To post a picture, just take a picture on your phone, go to imgur.com and upload it, and on the right it'll show you the code that you need to use to post it here.

I just moved so I'm working on the area still. I have a few gaming posters and some random items I wouldn't mind setting up. Right now I have my gaming PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U set up. The consoles are all behind the big TV.

OK here is my current set up

Untitled

So from left to right I have

OUYA, below that is a Wii U. Next to the Wii U is PS4, then a SNES and a PS2. Below those is an N64 and one of my Dreamcasts and on the computer desk is my Sega Genesis with CD attachment and a bunch of other stuff that I need to pick up. Lol.
