Talking Point: What Are Your Plans For This Week's Big Xbox Event?

With the Xbox Developer Direct for 2025 now just a few days away, this is our chance to do what we always do - ask you what your plans are for it! In other words, will you be watching this live, or just catching up after the event?

If you're not a big fan of the lengthy summer showcases, the nice thing about Developer Direct is that it's pretty condensed, usually finishing up in around 45 minutes. It doesn't outstay its welcome, but it doesn't feel rushed either.

Before we go any further, don't forget to remind yourself of all the important details (it's taking place on Thursday!):

Of course, a lot of this probably depends on how interested you are in DOOM: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight and/or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but don't forget there's a surprise fourth game that hasn't actually been spoiled yet (unless you count the rumour about it being a Japanese game), and potentially even a fifth surprise if we're lucky!

We're big fans of the Xbox Developer Direct format here at Pure Xbox, and the original two in 2023 and 2024 were both excellent. Hi-Fi RUSH was the big surprise in 2023 as a shadow drop, while Square Enix made an unlikely appearance last year with Visions of Mana. Just like in those two shows, we're expecting release dates for multiple games too!
