Welcome to yet another weekend! It's our last one before December, and we've got plenty of great games to enjoy on Xbox including the new releases of Teardown and ARK: Survival Evolved (amongst many others), more Free Play Days offerings, and the Xbox Black Friday Sale is still ongoing for a few more days as well.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I'm a little bit stuck for what to play at the moment as I eagerly await the release of Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox. That's the game I want to pull my attention towards for the rest of 2023 at least, so everything else is kind of in the background - I'm flirting a bit with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Hogwarts Legacy, but not in any major way.
I might actually go back to the original Xbox and Xbox 360 a bit more this weekend as a result. Burnout 3: Takedown is calling to me again, while on the 360 I'm in the mood for some Virtua Tennis and maybe even Blur if I can find it!
Have a good weekend, folks.

This weekend is the first in a while where I have a decent amount of free time for my own gaming so I'm gonna be digging into Forza Motorsport properly for the first time. I've played a bit already, it looks and plays incredibly well, but I've yet to really spend time with it so looking forward to that.
I may keep things racing with a bit of EA Sports WRC too, I picked it up at launch and have yet to get started, and I expect my kids may hog the Xbox a little for some Teardown, which they love, and of course ROBLOX, which is 24/7 in my house.
Have a great weekend!

Ahoy gang! This weekend I’m hopping into a time-machine to travel back to my 2009 bedroom to kick it with Buck, the Rookie and the rest of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers in Halo 3: ODST - thanks to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. I started it this week and it hit just right. I’d say ODST is exactly what I need right now - an iconic blast from the past to make me feel all warm and fuzzy heading into December.
I’m also going to continue with DREDGE’s The Pale Reach DLC, which is insane value for money when you consider it's only £5.99. Speaking of a bargain, I’m looking to offload my Rewards points on a voucher before I miss out on some of these Xbox Black Friday deals. I’m not sure what I’ll get at the moment but I’m thinking of maybe bagging Control Ultimate Edition or Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Happy gaming folks!

I can’t really say I’m playing a great deal at the moment, but do you know what game I’ve been dabbling with recently? Geometry Wars 2! Good lord, it’s so good. I’m still top of the friends leaderboard after all these years too, with 23,084,150 in the ‘Evolved’ mode. There are still over 43,000 people worldwide ahead of me, but I’ll take it.
Other than that, I’m kinda tempted to jump back into Dead Space (the remake of course) again, just so I can make sure it deserves a spot in my personal top five games of the year.
What will you be playing on Xbox this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

I’m honestly not playing anything specific at the moment and I don’t know if I will start to. I may casually play some Battle Chef Brigade, which I finally decided to buy after six years of saying, “I’m just not sure on the price for this one…” Maybe I’ll finally jump back into Baldur’s Gate 3, the last of the 2023 titles for me to play. Maybe I won’t play anything. Or maybe I’ll just play old arcade games? I haven’t really played much of anything since finishing Alan Wake 2 on Monday.
I'll be trying to finish Persona 5 Royal. I'm in what was the last Palace in the vanilla version so I'm not sure if I'll be able or not. I think I enjoyed it a little more than the original, but the complaints are the same.
I picked up MK1 on the Black Friday deal, currently waiting on it installing now. Maybe Alan wake 2 or Robocop will be picked up at some point over the festive season. Boulders gate 3 on the horizon too
Gone back to try and finish Back 4 Blood, onto chapter 4, and some Tiny Tina's Wonderlands after picking it up in the black Friday sale
Diablo 4. Came with the series X picked up this week.
Love the game and more than that, love the X!
Finished Dead Space (2023) on Series X earlier this week, so I'll be playing other games from Game Pass this weekend.
Started up Jusant. It's a pretty cool game but the mechanics have made me frustrated on more than one occasion. I am enjoying it overall though. It's a good palate cleanser after Dead Space and before I continue my playthrough of Like a Dragon Gaiden.
I'm also in the mood for some portable gaming, so I think I'll be continuing my playthrough of Professor Layton and Pandora's Box on 3DS.
I'm traveling this weekend without much downtime but I did pack a switch and steam deck. I will continue to pick away at Metroid Prime Remastered and Fallout New Vegas when able. I am nearing the end of both so finishing either or both would be great.
Just finished Like a Dragon Gaiden. Now I'm playing Cocoon as a recommendation from Jimboss here and Alice Madness Returns.
On switch I'm playing Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time in my life (pls don't judge me folks haha)
This weekend I’m still playing the brilliant Lies of P. I’m going to challenge myself and get the platinum trophy. If I had to give an estimate, I’d say 90% through the game. So far, I’ve completed all available side quests, hunted down all trinity key(s) and locations, as well as the collectibles.
To be honest, I might even consider this an “all-timer” — even going so far as having it stand shoulder to shoulder to Bloodborne. It takes the best elements from Bloodborne and Sekiro, and creates its own identity. Sure, FromSoftware might have invented, or at least perfected the genre, particularly with its gameplay that feels tightly focused, but Lies of P has the best of both worlds.
Meanwhile, it tells a coherent story that’s full of intrigue, but not obscure. To tell a lie or truth to certain characters really add a fascinating depth to its overall narrative. And with its story, there’s a fully rich world that’s interconnected similarly to its admirations, and it’s executed very well.
This game is just exceptional. The 1 million copies sold is well deserved, too. I know I’m not finished with it, but I’m already excited for its upcoming DLC. And I don’t typically do NG+, but I simply need more of this game.
This weekend I'm (still)playing Super Mario RPG on the Switch and...not much else, honestly.
Might finally start Final Fantasy XVI today though since I beat RoboCop: Rogue City on thursday(extremely enjoyable game) and kinda am taking a break from Half-Life 2.
Oh and as always, I'm playing Shin Megami Tensei IV on the 3DS.
Forza motorsport and nothing else. It's all I've played since it was released bar maybe a couple of hours on riders republic, and a game of party animals with the kids here and there.
I'd said previously that my plan was to play through Forza and Cyberpunk by the end of the year.
Forza has seriously got a grip on me so I don't think Cyberpunk is even gonna get started, let alone finished.
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Everspace 2 , Forza motorsport, maybe some Mario wonders with the familiy.
On Black Friday deals I got 1tb ssd for my Ps5 and Immortals of Aveum. Like A Dragon Gaiden on game pass
Getting to the end of alan wake 2. Such a bizarre gem of a game.
As soon as i finish it ill probably watch a 2hour Youtube video explaining some things that i missed
Also Thirsty suitors to decompress a bit... liking it quite a lot. Highly recommended if you like RPGs and Scott Pilgrim...although the skating parts i couldnt care less
Planning to play a bunch of the smaller David Szymanski games this weekend, starting with The Moon Sliver. Then likely some more Remnant 2 Awakened King DLC with the guys, and also just started House of Ashes with my gf
Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition (Vita) - Was a craving a few rounds of tennis, this will fit the bill nicely.
Chickens Can't Fly (Windows Phone) - Back to finish this one off.
Doodle God Blitz (Windows Phone) - Finally near the endgame now.
My main games are persona 5 tactica and metal gear solid.
With the fam, mario wonder, mario Kart 8, and the double dragon games.
Triangle Strategy on Switch, with some F Zero 99 on the side!
Focusing on Atomic Heart at the moment. I'm finding it quite cool to be honest. A bit of Lego Skywalker on the side too and perhaps one or two games of Darktide.
World of Warcraft Lich King Classic (PC) Started up a Troll Shaman. This is my favorite Expansion so it's nice to be able to play it again.
Diablo IV (Series X) Still working on my Shadowmancer.
Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball (Super NT) playing a quick game here and there on my season.
Greedfall. Couldn't beat Nameless Puppet in lies of P. Shame as I really wanted to beat the game too.
Red Dead 2, Dead Space remake, and little Elden Ring mixed in (preparing for the DLC). And of course Mario Kart with the kids.
Picked up Lumines Remastered and Kena: Bridge of Spirits in the Steam autumn sale. Will also be playing more Forza Motorsport and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. I also just finished a game called Bzzzt, which is an absolutely brilliant mobility focused 2D platformer that I highly recommend.
Got tired of Borderlands 1 and now on 2 and 20% in so far… my palette cleanser might be a RPG like Divinity 1
Like A Dragon Gaiden while trying to stay out of hostess bars.
Finally, finally finally bought the MCC for the Steam Deck, and seeing how I missed the 1st three Xbox gens I'll be going in cold turkey
Really excited
Also got MW2 new for cheap and will finally get that campaign going,
Pokemon Shield and Bayonetta 3
Alrighty we got a kinda interesting week this week. First off I hope everyone had a excellent holiday. Next Persona 5 Tactica and Sea Of Stars yesterday was a interesting combo. A genuinely terrific game is what Persona 5 Tactica is so far I won’t lie there. Was genuinely shocked when I got into gameplay within like 20 minutes of starting. Snagged two new amiibos this weekend too Shiver and Frye from Splatoon. As for tonight well a good online buddy of mine (shoutout Champ.) has offered to help me with the final boss of Sonic Superstars so I’ll go for the same Sega Sunday as last week. Some Sonic and Like a Dragon Gaiden. As for the rest of the week the plan is it’s business as usual with the GOTY work. Pretty close to the end of Super Mario Wonder. Same with Spider-Man 2 as well. Alan Wake II is a little hard to judge where I’m at. But also the big news of the week is I feel Baldurs Gate 3 clicks now so I’m excited to jump back into that one too. Other games I’m probably close to the end of would be Pikmin 4 and The Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and maybe FFXVI? I wanna do The Teal Mask and the Indigo Disk before the end of the year. I finished off the Fell Xenologue for Fire Emblem Engage this week so now with all of Engage done I feel very strongly on Engage as a whole. Hoping the same can happen to Pokémon Scarlet. As for anime of the week y’all already know we basically listing the new Big 3 at this point. Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy X Family and Eminence in Shadow. Just the best as always. Tho special shout-out to Shangri La Frontier and 100 Girlfriends as well for being equally as awesome. Podcasts of the week are the usual ya know Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Minnmax, Remap Radio, RPGsites Tetracast. However until the whole Jirard the Completionist situation gets resolved I can’t I’m good faith endorse the Friends Per Second podcast and for now gotta say I’m gonna sub it in for and shoutout the Nextlander podcast. As always yall have a excellent rest of the weekend, a excellent week and Happy Gaming.
I was off this week and have played 71+ hours of Yakuza since last weekend. Thirty hours in Yakuza 6 and 41+ hours in Gaiden. I've reached the final chapter of Gaiden and have chosen to slow down. Other titles I'm playing are Starfield and Sea of Stars.
One thing I tried is playing both titles of those via Xbox Cloud on Steam Deck. Both perform remarkably well. I have a Wi-Fi 6 router and the new Steam Deck, though I did start on the original SD. Sea of Stars had a streaming issue (stalling, fast forwarding) for 5 minutes or so. That was after many hours of play.
Oh, yeah — I also completed Lies of P.
I'm back on Kingdom Come Deliverance. I loved it back on release, and now I have the various DLCs to blast through.
Absolutely nothing, I'm sitting in the hospital next to my sleeping wife and newborn son. We're still cranking them out in our 40s. This is definitely the last one, though!
