Eventually, lots of Call of Duty games will head to the Xbox Game Pass library thanks to Microsoft's mammoth Activision Blizzard deal. The team is still working behind the scenes to get CoD on Game Pass, but it'll happen eventually once everything is worked out by Xbox, Activision and all of the development studios involved.
While we can't guarantee that every single title will go to Game Pass imminently, there's a good chance that most of the series will end up in the library sooner rather than later. And so, we've started to look back on the history of the franchise and think about what games we're excited to play with a whole new community.
As we mentioned around a month ago, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 would be a solid Game Pass addition with its fun but online-dependant modes like Blackout and the game's Overwatch-esque multiplayer, and of course, we're massively looking forward to some of the Xbox 360 classics being added to the library too.
Who could forget the original Modern Warfare 2 as well? Sure, the game's balance has basically been broken since launch, but playing the new Modern Warfare 3 this weekend has made us realise just how good the old school MW2 maps are. Seriously, the MW3 remakes are fun but we'd still love to play the originals with a much bigger Game Pass audience!
And so, we'll throw it over to you. Vote for the one Call of Duty game you want to play most on Xbox Game Pass (we'll skip the original, because it isn't backward compatible) - and if you have any close runners up, please tell us in the comments section down below.

I’ll probably have to buy the DLC but I would love to go back and play World at War Zombies. I have a lot of fun memories playing those original maps with my friends and brothers growing up.
I have no interest in the series, mostly due to being bad at fps. But just wanted to comment to ask if there is any other property outside of sports sims with more entries? That is an impressively long list!
I own infinite warfare
Im excited to play mw2 (old)
Bo3 (i kinda miss the futuristic cod)
Mw3 (2023)
None to be honest the older call of duty are the better ones thats for sure
World at War or MWII for me
Haven’t played any of them so looking forward to playing them all…
World at War if it’s got servers. Was probably the most fun I had with the series outside Blackout. In an alternate world, Warzone didn’t happen and Blackout is still relevant.
AFAIK Black Ops 4 was the last one to support 4 player split screen. And I already have it on disc so I'm set there. I guess it would be nice to not have to worry about forgetting the disc when I take it over for weekly game night.
So that being said, probably Call of Duty 2. Go back to soek old school experiences.
Probably the newer ones in reality because I stopped buying a few years ago and own all the ones from WW2 backwards and all the DLC too. I'd go back to play Zombies on BO3 and older games. But I'd play the newer games potentially for their campaign as I haven't played these either.
When I can play CoD 4 on my 360 or the original Black Ops (great Campaign - the numbers Mason...) and its Zombies anyway, them on Game Pass doesn't matter to me...
There's a few I'd like to play again but only if MS fixes the hacker problems that the old games have. Otherwise there's no point for them to be on Gamepass.
Just hoping they'll get slightly better sales than they do now. Though if I was Microsoft I'd go a little extra by relisting the 360 versions of Advanced Warfare & Ghosts. Might as well just to try 'n recoup that money a little faster.
Last week, I would have picked Modern Warfare (2019) and Modern Warfare 2 (2022), because I haven't played a CoD campaign since... World War II, I think?... and I've only heard decent to great things about the campaigns in those MW remakes. However, seeing as how Modern Warfare 3 seemingly ended the story with a whimper and, by all accounts, is a bit crap, well that's sort of taken the wind out of my sails.
All of the original Modern Warfares and Blacks Ops 2 for me. Also, I know it's not universally loved but I have a soft spot for Advanced Warfare too.
The newest one, duh. Online versus multiplayer ftw
Putting any 360-era CoD on there would be a bad PR move, shining a gigantic spotlight on how they can't or won't fix the broken online modes.
Imagine WaW going on there, then the first day thousands of people are having their rank reset to a negative number where they can't even access the online functions anymore.
Only their campaigns, not their bunny hopper multiplayer!!
Will try a few I own black ops 2 so hopefully the servers fill up
I will be trying to talk friends into diving back into the zombie modes of some these games, will probably start with the classics. I also haven't played the last 2 campaigns (MW2 and MW3) so I will play those as soon as they hit GP.
The newest title would make the most sense to me. BTW, great game, great campaign.
