We spent some time earlier this month playing through Still Wakes The Deep, and we really enjoyed our time with The Chinese Room's spooky Scottish adventure on Xbox. It wasn't perfect, but the Game Pass title provided a couple of intense gaming nights on the sofa for us - and we'll certainly remember its immersive setting for a long time to come.
While we took a particular shining to this one, and the game seems to have done fairly well critically across the board, we want to know if you're playing Still Wakes the Deep yet - and how you're finding it if you've already got stuck into this Xbox Game Pass adventure!
This 'walking sim' of sorts is quite a short game — clocking in at roughly four or five hours for a normal playthrough — so we thought it safe to ask you PXers about the game and what you think so far. Conversely, if you've put it off for now and are playing something a bit more time-consuming, Still Wakes the Deep could be a great short-but-sweet palette cleanser - if it's your sort of thing of course.
Anyway, let us know in the polls down below what you think of the game so far. Oh, and if you're holding off for now, tell us why in the comments!

I havent played it yet, but it's in the queue. Wanted to finish my playthrough of Gris before i added another game to the rotation.
Excited to check it out!
Great game. Took me just over five hours. I would give it a 9. Not much I didn't like about it. The gameplay reminded me of Riddick - Butcher Bay and a lot of other parts of the game gave me Bioshock vibes. Especially, the music in the game (violins).
I'm yet to try it but if it's only 4 to 5 hours then I think I'll give it a go as I've just finished a game from my backlog so could potentially play this one now.
@PartyMarty Nice one to sneak in!
I slightly downgraded for the awkward translation from Scottish to English subtitles… but enjoying the game and the visuals were better than I would expect from my S and bad TV….
@Kezelpaso Yeah I agree! and with it being cloud play enabled even quicker just to start up and play through!
I'm about two hours in loving the Scottish setting and the game 8/10 for me
fantastic graphics and sound but no combat. 3/10
Great game. Short and sweet. Dripping with atmosphere and superb voice acting. Not as scary as I'd hoped, but still a good time 👍🏻
I'm enjoying it so far. Love the time period and overall atmosphere. The graphics are quite nice as well. If there ever was a game that I would love to play with Gerry Cinnamon, it would definitely be this one... Peace & Love & Here We, Here We, Here We ****** Go!
@Mustoe "How many killings does it have?
now i gotta watch the movie. lol
I like this game, a welcome change of pace from a lot of the other genres I play. Still Wakes The Deep is a solid choice for me.
The linear gameplay bores me
On the hollibobs in Menorca right now but it's pre installed for when I get back. Loved Everybody's gone to the rapture so am sure I will enjoy this.
A solid 7 for me. Great setting with wonderful atmosphere and I did get invested in the characters, but what keeps it at a 7 is how linear it is.
It's alright so far. I guess a perfect game to complete and never return to it. So I'm glad in this case I didn't buy it.
Very good never working on a oil rig
I've not heard of this before. Is it a horror game? It looks interesting, but I don't enjoy scary horror games. Spooky thrills is ok, but if it's a horror game I'll give it a miss.
I think it is an absolute farce that once again a gamepass game releases feature incomplete (DLSS) so I have to decide between a grainy/noisy image at a lower frame rate, or wait a long time to play it properly.
I’m still busy with Octopath traveler 2
This game was a fantastic little surprise. I never would have even looked at it if it wasn't for game pass. Seriously I didn't even download the thing. I just streamed it for a bit then I realized 3 hours had passed. It was a great play. Unfortunately I will never go back to it, It's way to scary! Seriously tense! Not even the calisto protocol was this scary (I played that the night before)
@PhileasFragg oh yeah it's all about the scary tension. If your not into that genre you might wanna give it a pass, Or at least habe someone in the room with you.
