It's time for another round of Pick One! This week, with reports of a brand-new mainline Splinter Cell game in the works, we thought we'd take a look back at the history of the franchise on Xbox so far.
There have been six games in all across the 20 years of Xbox, with the most recent title arriving all the way back in 2013. That said, there are some classics amongst them, so picking a favourite might be a tough call!
Let's take a look at what we're working with:
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (2002)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® introduces a new type of game to the lineup: a third-person stealth action game with cyber-terrorism, shadow agencies and covert operations on the menu. Take control of Sam Fisher, a field operative of a secretive "black-ops" NSA sub-agency called THIRD ECHELON.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (2004)
In Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell®: Pandora Tomorrow™, you play Sam Fisher, a cold-blooded stealth soldier waging a one-man war against an Indonesian terrorist network. Inspired by the world of Tom Clancy, Pandora Tomorrow features a story line so real you can feel it.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (2005)
The next installment of the critically acclaimed stealth-action franchise, Tom Clancy's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Chaos Theory™ sends Sam Fisher on a perilous mission to stop a cyberterrorist plot that threatens worldwide war.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent (2006)
Splinter Cell Double Agent is a Stealth-Action game where you play as Sam Fisher, a secret NSA agent, infiltrating a terrorist cell to destroy it from within. Face the gut-wrenching dilemmas of a Double Agent's life, do whatever it takes to complete your mission, and get out alive.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (2010)
For years, Sam Fisher has been off the grid and on his own, chasing his daughter's murderer. But the trail leads to the last place Sam wants to see again: Washington D.C. Now Sam must work with old friends he can no longer trust, forced to save a country he no longer serves. For unless he can stand against both a vast, faceless enemy and the shadows of the past, he'll never know what happened to his daughter - or himself.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist (2013)
You are Sam Fisher, and you've been given the ultimate freedom to protect innocents against a series of global terror attacks known as Blacklist - the freedom to use limitless force, to break every law, and to become the globe's deadliest operative.
Let us know which of these Splinter Cell Xbox games is your favourite below.

Never played any, back in the day Metal Gear was the way to go with stealth shooters
To hard to say.....easier to pick the weakest....double agent
Chaos theory hands down. The coop was amazing!
My favourite is the one with Peter North in it.
Chaos Theory and not even close for me. Also still looks great via BC!
Chaos theory and Conviction 😀
@Michu2951 No!
It's tough to say. Chaos Theory had the best over-all package, but Pandora Tomorrow offered some interesting twists (like staying IN the light to avoid the night-vision sniper, and the lightning flashes exposing you crossing an open area). Blacklist did a neat thing by combining different types of missions and giving Fisher better moves to counter certain enemies.
The series really did avoid cookie cutter sequels so its a shame its been so long (but its probably for the better considering Ubi's current direction).
I’ve only played the original. I thought it was awesome but very difficult (I’m not skilled with stealth games).
I have so much memories of the first one, back in the days where it was seen as a Metal Gear rival... and I'm saying that as a total Metal Gear fanboy. The first Splinter Cell was just pure magic.
Between this game and Halo, it was so good to have an Xbox, back then !

Double Agent
Double Agent is a rather weak game. The plot is poorly developed and the NSA and terrorist standing mechanic was implement in a stupid way, as it changes in situations one of the parties cannot possible know Fisher did anything.

Absolutely love the series, pains me to see the stealth genre in a lull. This series (and Metal Gear) deserve more but at least we have Hitman still.
Pandora Tomorrow for me.
I've only ever played the first three.
The original felt groundbreaking and Chaos Theory looked stunning.
It's Pandora Tomorrow that I remember most fondly though 😊
Chaos Theory without a doubt. But the multiplayer Spies Vs Mercs in Double Agent was brilliant! I had an absolute blast playing that back in the day. Playing both sides provided distinct gameplay mechanics, and should be brought back today. I remember being caught by someone playing a mercenary, and while he had me in a hold, he spoke into his mic and teased me about being caught - then he choked me out and it was game over. Haha, good times 😎
Chaos Theory is one of my favourite games. The level design and the slick, subtle controls are superb. The music and sound design is excellent too. I think it's easily one Ubisoft's best games.
Wow this was a hard one
I liked them all.
@Michu2951 Give the old ones a go and see what all the fuss is about! MGS almost turned into Splinter Cell with Ground Zeroes.
Chaos Theory
Splinter Cell 1
Double Agent (360)
Pandora Tomorrow
I had to pick Pandora Tomorrow because of nostalgia reasons. But I think the best is Chaos Theory.
