Echo Generation (Xbox Series X|S)
The most recent entry on this list is Echo Generation - a beautiful voxel art title that embodies classic Spielbergian movies such as E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It wears its 80s influences on its sleeve and is nothing short of enjoyable, popcorn fun. It's a turn-based RPG but includes adventure game-style elements that have you venturing around the world and getting to know its inhabitants. Filled with pop culture references and Easter eggs to the era it's inspired by, it's a treat for anyone who wants a blast from the past this Halloween.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (Xbox One)
If you're looking for something a little more surreal and filled with subtle nuances, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is perfect - especially if you own headphones. While not the most obvious choice, for anyone who loses themself in the audiovisual experience it offers, a truly unsettling experience awaits. From Senua's internal monologue to the disturbing imagery on display, it's a nerve-wracking ride with a fantastic central narrative to sink your teeth into. Don't miss out on this one.
Last Stop (Xbox One)
For any horror fans out there who perhaps aren't ready to tackle something too demanding and just want to go along for a ride, Last Stop provides the right level of intrigue and spookiness for the faint-hearted. While there's not too much in terms of gameplay, its Netflix style story is filled with enough twists and turns that it's hard to put down. You won't find anything too horrifying in here - minus one particularly dark ending - but it sits on the lower end of the creepiness levels to suit those who are looking for something a bit more chill this Halloween.
Outlast 2 (Xbox One)
Outlast is considered one of the scariest games of all time and Outlast 2 is no exception. A longer, scarier and more intense ride than the original, the sequel is a relentless assault on the senses, rarely letting up and always forcing you to escape the world's deadly inhabitants. It often feels like one continuous chase sequence, giving you little to no chance to breathe. It can be pretty exhausting, but any horror fan out there will be up for the challenge. Whether it's narrowly dodging enemies through cornfields or wandering around a creepy abandoned school - Outlast 2 is a horror fan's dream.
Psychonauts 2 (Xbox Series X|S)
Psychonauts 2 launched during the summer and proved to be a whopping success. If you haven't checked the game out yet, Halloween is the perfect opportunity. Providing something for a younger audience or those who are looking for jolly vibes this year, the game is a wonderous platformer filled with weird and strange visuals. By delving into the minds of many people, you'll uncover truly strange sights that constantly reminded us of early Tim Burton work. It captures the magic of Halloween, complete with colourful visuals, weird characters and some truly exceptional set-pieces. Don't miss out on one of Xbox Game Pass's best titles.
Resident Evil 7 (Xbox One)
There's only one Resident Evil game on Xbox Game Pass right now, but it might be the scariest Resident Evil of all time. The seventh iteration of the series adopted a very different style compared to previous entries, taking the franchise down a first-person route, and putting you in the shoes of Ethan Winters in a search for his long-missing wife. This is definitely one of those games that'll scare you silly this Halloween, so put the kids to bed, turn down the lights and prepare for a horror masterpiece. Just don't scream too loud...

It's nice seeing a list that includes non horror. I'm not a fan of horror and not a fan of Halloween given that focus, bit there were those magical, special things as a kid that I remember had a whimsical Halloween. That I enjoyed. You don't see as much of it anymore. But things like Luigi's Mansion, MediEvil, Psychonauts, etc. Really bring back that magic.
Though, control, I'll make the exception for. I don't do horror, but I'm a sucker for (Series) X Files.
I expected dead by daylight
Costume Quest is the perfect Halloween RPG
Not on gamepass, but can't go wrong with the undead nightmare for rdr 1
Rdr 1 is on sale for $9.89 or something
@everynowandben It honestly is, really hits the spirit of Halloween.
