Xbox Game Pass has enjoyed another phenomenal year in 2023, and we're still not done yet! October and November are shaping up extremely well, and hopefully December will have some fun surprises for us too.
After that, we're into 2024 - and although there's still a lot to be announced for next year, we're already looking at a pretty stacked lineup of major releases coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next 12 months-or-so.
With that in mind, we thought we'd take this chance to look ahead at 10 games we can't wait to play on Xbox Game Pass in 2024. From Hellblade 2 to Stalker 2, there are some huge AAA titles in the mix here!
Don't forget that you can check out the entire list of every game announced for Xbox Game Pass in 2024 elsewhere on Pure Xbox, along with the full 2023 list as well. For now though, let's take a more in-depth look at ten specific games coming to Xbox Game Pass next year that we're particularly excited for here at Team PX...
Ark 2 (Xbox Series X|S)
We were hoping to enjoy Ark 2 sooner than 2024 on Xbox Game Pass, but sadly it got pushed back due to a pretty heavy delay. Nevertheless, this is definitely one of the most high profile titles in next year's Xbox Game Pass lineup so far, and if it can nail the landing, it could end becoming an even bigger success than the hugely popular first game!
"Survive the past. Tame the future. Suddenly awakened on a primal world filled with dinosaurs and humans struggling for dominance, you must team-up with legendary heroes to confront powerful dark forces. Saddle up, and join the definitive next-gen survival experience with ARK 2!"
Avowed (Xbox Series X|S)
Xbox will be relying on Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed to be one of the big first-party hitters of 2024, so there's quite a bit of pressure behind this first-person fantasy RPG. That said, we have great faith in Obsidian to knock it out of the park, and the studio is confident that "there's going to be a lot of people who love this game." Let's hope so!
"You are the envoy of Aedyr, a distant land, sent to investigate rumors of a spreading plague. You discover a personal connection to the land itself and an ancient secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save the island and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?"
Dungeons Of Hinterberg (Xbox Series X|S)
We were immediately captivated by the striking art style of Dungeons Of Hinterberg, and it's shaping up to be a pretty awesome adventure on Xbox Game Pass in 2024! This is a "single-player mix of Action-RPG and Social Sim" in which you'll solve puzzles and slay monsters deep in the dungeons of an idyllic village.
"Armed with a sword and a tourist guide, explore the beautiful alpine village of Hinterberg and uncover the magic hidden within its dungeons! Master magic, solve puzzles, slay monsters; all this and more await you in Hinterberg!"
Hollow Knight: Silksong (Xbox Series X|S)
There's still no telling when Hollow Knight: Silksong might land on Xbox Game Pass, as developer Team Cherry hasn't announced a release date since the game was delayed back in May of 2023. What we do know is that we absolutely loved the first game, and therefore this has the potential to be one of the best Xbox Game Pass titles of 2024!
"Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! The sequel to the award winning action-adventure. Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song."
Persona 3 Reload (Xbox Series X|S)
The arrival of Persona 3 (and 4!) on Xbox Game Pass back in early 2023 was a fantastic surprise, but developer Atlus is taking things to the next level in early 2024 with a "captivating reimagining" of Persona 3 in the form of Persona 3 Reload. We're expecting some major improvements across the board - to a game that was already a must-play on Xbox!
"Dive into the Dark Hour and awaken the depths of your heart. Persona 3 Reload is a captivating reimagining of the genre-defining RPG, reborn for the modern era with cutting-edge graphics and gameplay."
Replaced (Xbox Series X|S)
Replaced has quietly being going under the radar, but it's been one of our most highly-anticipated Xbox Game Pass additions for years now. The game, which even Xbox boss Phil Spencer has shown his fondness for, has sadly suffered multiple delays, but we're hoping it'll be worth the wait when it finally drops on Xbox Game Pass in 2024.
"REPLACED is a 2.5D sci-fi retro-futuristic action platformer where you play as R.E.A.C.H. - an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its own will. REPLACED combines cinematic platforming, pixel art and free-flow action combat set in an alternative 1980’s."
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II (Xbox Series X|S)
It's crazy to think about it now, but Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 debuted as part of the reveal of the Xbox Series X back in late 2019! The game still isn't out yet, but everything we've seen of it suggests we're in for something special when it launches on Xbox Game Pass in 2024. If you haven't played the original, we highly recommend it!
"The sequel to the award winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Senua returns in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without."
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (Xbox Series X|S)
There's no doubt that Stalker 2 is going to be an extremely popular addition to Xbox Game Pass when it arrives in 2024, and we hopefully won't have to wait too long for it. This Xbox and PC timed exclusive is in good hands over at GSC Game World, and all the trailers and gameplay footage have looked fantastic so far. Bring it on!
"Discover the vast Chornobyl Exclusion Zone full of dangerous enemies, deadly anomalies and powerful artifacts. Unveil your own epic story as you make your way to the Heart of Chornobyl. Make your choices wisely, as they will determine your fate in the end."
Still Wakes The Deep (Xbox Series X|S)
Still Wakes The Deep might have bypassed your radar, but this first-person narrative horror game is being developed by the studio behind the likes of Dear Esther and Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, so it's definitely one to watch. Prepare to struggle for survival on a collapsing oil rig with no weapons and no powers whatsoever to help you out...
"1975. Disaster strikes the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland. Navigate the collapsing rig to save your crew from an otherworldly horror on the edge of all logic and reality."
Towerborne (Xbox Series X|S)
Towerborne has all the makings of a surprise hit on Xbox Game Pass in 2024, and the best part is that it's actually being published by Xbox Game Studios! The developer previously worked on the Banner Saga Trilogy, and initial previews have dished out a lot of praise for this promising arcade beat 'em up. We're hoping it'll be with us in early 2024.
Which of these are you most excited for on Xbox Game Pass? Tell us down in the comments section below.

hey Purexbox did you see the tweet (X) post from Hellblade? It basically showed a picture of the team watching the game being played from start to finish!
I'm very excited of senua Hellblade 2, although I can already tell it'll be attacked, I predict it being a phenomenal single player experience with graphics that will shock us to our gamer core.
Fable is easily my most anticipated game, yet I bet there will be those who are unaware that Fable never had a character creation and so when the new Fable doesnt, they'll act like it's a missed feature.
I'm also super excited for all the games they haven't announced yet, I'm almost confident there will be a elder scrolls remaster, followed by a late Indy Jones release.
My main concern is that Xbox will have to make sure they're firing all cannons in order to drown out the inevitable wave of negativity and hit squads that will seek to peddle their narrative of doom and gloom. Starfield had one hell of a fight on its hands and I feel Bethesda came out on top, especially loved their poster with all the positive reviews, it was a great way of shaking off the haters. I've got a really good feeling about 2024.
Meanwhile, as a PS owner also, I'm concerned by Sony's quiet line up so far, with talks of delays and live service games, it could be that we see them suffering from.an Xbox 2022 scenario. I hope not, because the end of 2023 for both consoles have been insane.
I wonder what Activision games we will get and how soon into 2024 will they arrive on GP.
Happy gaming everyone
Still Wakes the Deep is the one that draws me from this list. Hope Silksong makes it next year too!
Really curious to see more about Replaced. It looks good, but I feel like I’ve been burned more often on Gamepass indies I was looking forward to then getting hits lately.
Flight simulator 2024. I absolutely love the current flight sim and can't wait to dive into the new one.
I think there’s enough games still to come out this year to keep me going well into 2024! Even if BG3 dropped on Xbox tomorrow I wouldn’t have time to play it.
Difficult to beat 2023 but some amazing titles. I’m getting to the point that I need to seek help for my addiction …
That's a cracking list of games there, just need to find the time to play them...
Hellblade 2 is definitely my most anticipated from the list. Silksong and replaced I've very interested in too. Enjoy the weekend of gaming everyone
Can’t even think about 2024 atm. Way too many games from 2023 to get to still. Zelda, Diablo IV, BG3, Forza, Alan Wake 2, Armored Core, etc. just finished my first play through of Starfield and just can’t seem to put it down yet…
2024 shaping up to be as fire as 2023.
@jonmac547 I hope it's a free update for current owners, albeit a massive file size. I bought the current version for when I occasionally let my Gamepass sub lapse. The new gameplay options look incredible.
@Kaloudz You & me both, brother.
Hmm I think I am winding down on gaming as I don’t really see much next year that is grabbing my attention. Not a bad thing…. Backlog is massive.
Hellblade 2 is my number one game on this list. Can’t wait to play it!!!

I think the reality is they already had a quiet spell THIS year. There has been an absence of first party AAA between GOW:Ragnarok and Spider-man 2, almost 12 months. But they have been lucky with 2023 being such a stacked year generally, there's never been a shortage of things to play. And they have been smart to fill the gap with some third party AAA games like FFXVI, Forspoken etc. and PSVR2 to make it seem less than it has been.
It was interesting in the leak that Microsoft discussed internally the possibility of paying up to 300 million USD for a AAA game on Game Pass, which would have filled their content gap in 2022 somewhat, but they didn't. This is a bigger problem for an ongoing subscription service promising AAA Day and date I feel, so i'm surprised they didn't.
I understand the concern for Sony next year. But I'm a little less worried as 1) The start of 2024 looks stacked, there shouldn't be a shortage of anything to play 2) I know that they have a lot of studios who haven't revealed anything i'm sure something will be coming quite soon after. 3) I think they will fill any gap they do have with other titles like FF7 Rebirth.
It's only a problem if the gaps are noticeable. Perception vs reality.
So many of these games have been in development so long and pushed back and back I hope they do actually hit in 2024. Silksong, Replaced, STALKER 2, Hellbalde 2 etc.
@Kaloudz SOD3 mate. I'll be happy with any kind of worthy follow up. Big fan of Undead labs. But there will probably be some jank, always is. They're still a small Studio though, I believe, despite being 1st party now.
Silksong is not for me.
The new Flight Sim and Eiyuden Chronicle 100 Heros are 2 other big GP launches.
@TJ81 I don't think it will be a free update, pretty sure I read this is a new, standalone game.
@Kaloudz Youd hope so. But, like too many games thesedays, it was announced far too soon I think.
