Re: YouTuber Attempts To Build $500 Gaming PC To Beat Xbox Series X

Jaxx420

It's really a misleading comparison - the PC market is vastly different to console.

Some PC gamers can perhaps quite rightly say "Consoles are pointless as my set up outperforms them easily" but those who go console for their gaming needs do it because they want to pay one affordable price for all their gaming needs, different type of consumer.

Re: Hitman 3's Console Version Looks Best On Xbox Series X, Confirms Report

Jaxx420

Digital Foundry do amazing work but the whole resolution/fps argument starts to bore me a bit. Lol.

2160p vs 1800p is maybe noticeable if you look hard enough. But I just care how games play. Maybe im getting old.....

Was like the whole Xbox 360 at 900p vs PS3 at 1080p on some games argument. Ultimately who cared as long as the games played well?

Re: Bethesda Announces Indiana Jones Game With Wolfenstein Dev

Jaxx420

@Reverandjames Different ball game. Sony purchased movie and tv rights from Disney.

Unless Microsoft have done the same with Indy. Then Disney will control which platforms the the game appears on if that agreement was before the buyout was completed.

Wouldnt surprise me if Microsoft did throw money at Disney however...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Nov 28th)

Jaxx420

I......have absolutely no idea.

In that awkward problem that shouldnt be a problem.

Not bought a new game this year until now. Now I have a Series X, PS5 and roughly 30 odd games if I count my game pass stuff. Struggling to decide what to play and having the old procrastination haha.

Leaning possibly towards the below

Yakuza Like a Dragon - Series X
Assasins Creed Valhalla - PS5

Re: Yes, Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Is Planning To Get A PlayStation 5

Jaxx420

@themightyant this is nothing new hes an avid gamer and usually if im not mistaken always games on all three.

So wont quieten the fanboys sadly. Magicing up console wars is all that gets them through their day.

The "traditional" console war died in the early 90s with the mega drive vs snes imo.

These days its just conjoured up by social media and trolls unfortunately.

Re: Phil Spencer Again Confirms Xbox Is Looking To Acquire More Studios

Jaxx420

This makes sense for them but I hope its to supplement and not instead of, organically growing their own first party studios. Good for the long term and for job creation.

My hunch is this is to supplement and because organically growing takes time. They need to do more like The Initiative in the long term.

Re: Roundup: Xbox Series X|S Review Impressions

Jaxx420

@KelticDevil It has 5 exclusives at launch. Out of all of them only one is appealing like. But its a fair few.

IGN are incompetent and are comparing on a software numbers game rather than the actual hardware. Standard IGN.

Re: The Xbox Series X UI Might Not Render At 4K, But Does It Matter?

Jaxx420

I think the PS5 UI needs to be 4k. The Series X does not/can afford not to.

The hints/tips function in the new PS5 UI pulls footage direct from gameplay and displays the current game in the background. It would be jarring if that did not display at 4k.

I think it would be a waste of resources for the Xbox to do it unless it offered the same function. As there is no way Xbox gamers would feel a need to bring up the UI in game that often other than switching between games.

Digital Foundrys job to pick that stuff up and talk about it. But kind of pointless.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See A Smash Bros Style Game On Xbox?

Jaxx420

I do not think it would work. For the same reason Playstation All Stars didn't.

Microsoft does not have enough of those iconic characters that would fit into a cartoony-like arcade fighter. Sony doesnt either.

Nintendo does.

If Microsoft or Sony were to do a Soul Calibur or Tekken-like game with their famous faces. That may work.

Re: Reaction: Sony Just Boosted The Value Of Xbox Game Pass Even Further

Jaxx420

I'm going to uh.... take the neutral view. My take.

  • Pre-orders didn't spring out of nowhere. They announced they would be going live the next day, retailers jumped the gun at midnight that night, unfortunately.
  • As for cross-gen games, Sony have backtracked one way, Microsoft have gone the other way and not doing cross-gen now. All rather odd.
  • third parties also increasing prices. I expect MS to do the same outside of Game Pass, inflation and all that
  • Overall I did find the presentation pretty poor - FFXVI had leaked anyway.
  • I think the marketing from Sony's side has been bloody awful frankly, I wouldn't say arrogant is the right word, but not proactive enough and far too much mixed messaging.

Overall, best judged when both have launched to be honest. MS have been more transparent and clear but I'd rather see the lay of the land post-launch before I judge either of them.

If anyone is laughing now, it's probably Nintendo. Not much first party on the horizon and still selling like hotcakes.

Re: The Xbox Series X Launches November 10th For £449 / $499

Jaxx420

@NEStalgia These days positive payments on phone contracts are reported on credit files. Mine is on there.

I rent at the moment and there is a way of getting those reported too now.

But I get what you mean credit scores are so volatile one hard search can damage for a few months.

I think its a fair deal what they are offering. But I would be a little meh if it was pushed as a competitive advantage.

Re: The Xbox Series X Launches November 10th For £449 / $499

Jaxx420

I might plump for Series X over S simply because my LG CX and TV Stand are dark and the Series S may look out of place (have no choice with PS5 colour sadly but at least it matches the VR headset so doesnt look completely out of place ).

Hardware-wise I dont care which one as long as I get to play a new Fable @KelticDevil you get the hype there!

I have a ton of Game Pass Ultimate months stacked so All Access not worth it for me. Gut says pay upfront and get an X but might take the week to weigh them both up.

Re: The Xbox Series X Launches November 10th For £449 / $499

Jaxx420

@TheNewButler The biggest problem with credit for gadgets is the inherent stupidity of a lot of people who take out credit for one.

Throwing so much marketing behind a credit line is even worse.

I get you. For sensible people getting credit and paying off on time and in full is a good thing. But most of the people who get credit are doing it because they cant afford the machine. Very dangerous game.
