Why are the comments on these “news” pieces always filled with generic-name no-avatar commenters trashtalking Xbox?

@Cyberpsycho id rather enjoy what games i get to play than seethe over what is on a different console. If I really wanted to play XIV id get a ps4. Not sure why the fact some FF games aren’t on Xbox should influence in any way the existence of others.

@GamingFan4Lyf wouldn’t call permanent shiny skin realistic.. it’s shoddily implemented because the scenes were built around baked in lighting. To make it work visually you’d need to redesign everything from the ground up. Question is, why bother at all

it's improved in some scenes, looks worse in others. These "next-gen" "upgrades" always mess with the original lighting, so even though there's more detail in some scenes you lose a lot of ambience.
Performance modes are always welcomed of course.

I exhausted all entertainment value from the 2022 World Cup update in an afternoon. It’s absolutely terrible.
I remember playing all the EA World Cup games for months. They were absolutely packed with content, and really had a very special festive feel.

This game was clearly held back by the Switch, not the Series S. That being said, little reason to not have 60FPS on the Series S

Really tempted to go back and try out Bayonetta and Vanquish on modern hardware. Had lots of fun with them back in the PS3 days

While it is understandable that even the best Sonic games aren't for everyone and negative opinions are valid, there is no doubt in my mind that some smaller outlets feel very comfortable dunking on the games for easy clicks.

It's great to have another solid 3D Sonic game after some 10 years. Hopefully it does well enough for Sonic Team to build upon it and make an even better sequel in the near future.

Adventure 2 is my all time favorite. Unfortunately i doubt it will ever be possible for them to make something as impactful as the Adventure games. Those two games had incredible vision and passion behind their development

@Techno92LFC i disagree. Most Fifa fans actually really enjoyed those separate releases. Especially people from countries that didn’t qualify, because of the extensive qualifying modes.

“It’s free anyway” is also a bad excuse. FIFA’s 12, 14 and 18 also had free updates and they had all the stadiums and the FUT modes were separate. This one’s a shoddy job.

Also keep in mind a significant number of people who only buy the stand alone games and the Fifas with WC/Euro themes. They specifically deserve better than this.

It is understandable they are focused on EAFC and couldn’t care less about caring for the FIFA license, but it’s a disservice to the fans

No separate WC FUT, only 2 stadiums.. very very weak. Really wish they still made stand alone WC games

@Gamingforlife Japan doesn't share the same views on sexuality as the US. Same way the US is much more liberal with depictions of violence.
In any case, take notice that you barely ever see actual sex scenes on japanese games. They have a very clear line they don't cross on mass consumption media.

The game’s still terrible. I’m having a hard time believing these numbers aren’t majorly inflated to appease investors.

I never claimed to have any superlative wisdom, i'm simply someone who's been playing the game for 30 years and am not basing my opinion on what i read about it on eurogamer.

FUT is the only game mode monetized in FIFA.
You can still play it without spending money, or ignore it completely and still have the full FIFA game there always was before FUT was introduced.
And i don't think you were able to understand that coming from the eurogamer review. And it's not your fault either, as i'm seeing very confused people on their comments who think you have to pay to unlock features outside of FUT

People who complain about mtx on fifa rarely actually played the game. The mtx is an optional component of a single game mode. Yes, a lot of people buy them (and yes, i think it's bulls*), but many hardcore Fifa players have played this game for 30 years without spending an extra cent. It detracts nothing from the game as a whole.

@Sol4ris you mention FH5 as if that's a good example of mtx compared to Fifa? Except you have cars behind a car pass, others behind car packs, and a 20 euro expansion every 6 months. Terrible example. I've played Fifa for 30 years and have spent more on mtx JUST on FH5, let alone 4, 2 and the main series with 6 and 7. Just to drive the cars i like.

In the end people will complain no matter what. Glad the game's getting a positive reception besides containing something that (unfortunately) is industry standard.

The PS5 as it is right now is a terribly designed piece of hardware. This is especially apparent when sitting next to the brilliant Series X.
Surely Sony is cooking up a sexy compact slim version.

never thought the standard controller wasn't enough. I tried these elite controllers before, they feel pretty much the same

@UltimateOtaku91 it's not a streaming only device, it's basically an android console like the ones currently coming from china.
It has good specs for emulation

The steam deck is a behemoth side-by-side with this thing. And it's not really the same market imo

I won't be getting this, but for people planning on importing one of those chinese android consoles it might be a nice alternative, probably much better build quality
