Quiz: How Well Do You Know The Modern Tomb Raider Games?

6. Not great but not bad for only playing each of the first two once. Haven’t played 3 yet.

9/10! I have much more fun with these great games than with the Uncharted games (I have every Uncharted game except the Vita one).

I played the first three Uncharted games & by the time I got halfway through the 3rd one, I was so bored with the gameplay & shooting mechanics I was 🙄.

I do think that Uncharted 2 is an absolute masterpiece though.

Then I played the Tomb Raider re-boot & was blown away. And the guy who was running the team for that game now heads up the Xbox studio The Initiative. Hence why I hope they re-boot Perfect Dark!

@KelticDevil The worst is 1 with awful colission detection and character movement. I remember killing myself 50 times when I just wanted to go to the next area and this happened several times over the whole playthrough. The shooting sections are a muti-wave nightmare with clunky controls and you have to repeat them if the last guy kills you.

The second one is much better. 3 was okay. 4 is spectacular but more film than game and The Lost Legacy beautiful but underwhelming.

The thing that the modern Tomb Raider games do perfectly is the gameplay, character movement and camera. Graphics and sound are awesome. Script is questionable.

I'm very excited about The Initiative, too!

I got 5 out of 10, Not bad being i never played a Tomb Raider game before..

I got 8/10.

I loved tomb raider growing up, I've got every single game across all 4 PlayStation systems (also PSP. And Saturn and Dreamcast too come to think). But the core games were the best. Chronicles was the last truly great tomb raider. Crystal took it and rebooted her with little miss nice in legend, then the series was rebooted again in 2013 with something that somehow worked, and rise was really good, only shadow was awful. You could tell Rhianna pratchett didn't write it

@FraserG out of the modern games, I'd probably say the 2013 game as well. I wasn't expecting to like it but was pleasantly surprised.

@FraserG Rise of. It has many tombs and I completed them all. The DLC is epic, do you guys remember the witch? It has many different moments like surviving on the snow and confronting a bear. TR 2013 was a bit too focused on killing.

I completely agree. The re-boot was so good because it came out of nowhere & completely reinvented the franchise. 👍🏻

As much as I enjoyed the reboot and Rise (haven't got round to Shadow yet, but my understanding is that it's by far the weakest of the bunch - perhaps Crystal should have remained in charge), I have to say I rather miss classic Tomb Raider.
