After a relatively quiet few weeks for Gears of War: E-Day, The Coalition has just dropped its 20th Anniversary celebration update, reviving a classic Versus mode alongside a new limited time mission for Horde Siege.
Guardian is the Versus mode in question, which has featured in almost every Gears title since Gears of War 2. It's no surprise, then, that the classic mode is getting some love from E-Day. For those who've never played Guardian before, each team starts a round with a 'leader', and it only ends once one leader is dead.
It was a decent mode back in the day, but only if your leader isn't a silly-sausage by getting themselves killed immediately. I'm just glad to see it add more variety to E-Day's Versus suite.
In addition to the returning mode, Horde Siege is getting a new "For the Queen" mission. The limited time mission disabled resupplies at caches littered throughout the map, meaning you'll have to rely on what you go in with, and what you can repurpose from grub corpses.
We've also spotted a few additional 'Anniversary' challenges, skins, banners, and poses in the store too.
