
It was this time last year that Xbox began rolling out age verification in the UK (followed by some other countries) and warning players they'd be forced to verify their age in order to access certain Xbox features in the future.
That still remains the case in some places such as Australia, but in others, Xbox has suddenly been telling loads of console owners that they don't need to verify their age anymore.
This message was sent out to tons of players last night:
As you can see here, the idea is that Xbox is now "estimating" that people have adult accounts based on how long they've been part of the Xbox ecosystem, including myself here at Pure Xbox.
To be honest, we had no idea this was something they were actually able to implement, but it's certainly a pleasing move that takes away the need to utilise age verification services that have proven controversial in recent times.
