Xbox Adds Gorgeous New Dynamic Background Ahead Of August 20th Release

There's not many games that made me feel like I was a beta tester; but during Stalker 2's gamepass tenure it certainly felt that way. Happy to see the game is becoming what it was advertised as, but I can't help but to feel slighted by how long it took and the removal from gamepass just as it was getting there.

@oopsiezz Just buy it support the devs dude if you liked it and want to play it more after it's gone from gamepass buy the game!

@Mr-Cage Maybe one day, if the sale is good enough. I would have almost certainly felt ripped off had I purchased this one at launch though. I had no idea what to expect from this developer with it being there first attempt at a console release. Just dissapointed it took so long to get into a good place.

@oopsiezz I'd say it was due to the deal with Microsoft for exclusivity and being on gamepass.
Microsoft probably wanted them to push it out to get it on the service first and foremost and fix it along the way.
Which doesn't really work when it takes about a year to get it to what it should really be like day one.
Well that's my little theory anyways haha

Enjoyed this from day one and do not regret getting the ultimate edition. Yes it was rough at times but where it shines is the atmosphere it creates when you immerse yourself into its fiction. Nothing like it in any other game I played

I can't wait to get stuck in again with new game engine & dlc.

@Mr-Cage I agree. I feel like they were either pressured to get it out, or a contractual obligation. This almost certainly doesn't work for the gamepass model though, a game lives or dies by how it's reception at launch goes when exposed to such a large audience. I'm sure PC sales were great for them but im skeptical about how many sales Xbox accounted for.

@oopsiezz I wouldn't say it sold well at all on Xbox because it's on gamepass other than that it could of probably done well.
But we don't really know what success is for Microsoft with games put on gamepass the new gears won't sell amazingly on Xbox I wouldn't say even with the beta getting mostly positive feedback.
I don't like the new siege mode myself

@CallMeDuraSouka I don't generally get spooked by games even dedicated horror usually make me laugh.

The sound design, atmosphere and just the general tension that seems to always build up in Stalker 2 as you creep through ruined buildings or walk in the woods is unreal.

Mag dumping a bush because it spooked me when I walked around a wall. All because I was so immersed in the game.

Wow I dont know if its the compression but what about the stalker one makes it "dynamic?" It looks like a still picture... actually most of xboxes dynamic backgrounds are barely that. Thy could do sooo much more with they already have some really good ones in there.

@Simu001 Yeah I had to watch it a second time and I noticed the character slightly moving left and right. But that’s about it. It’s a nice piece of art but it’s hardly “dynamic”.

I’ll stick with the Split Fiction background, I love the artwork, movement, and “video game” vibes it gives. Plus my girlfriend and I just started the game up. Stoked to play more of it.

Maybe one day I’ll try Stalker 2 but for now there are too many other games on my plate.
