Samson Developer Confirms September Release Window For Xbox Series X|S 1

Do you remember a game called Samson? Prior to its "Mixed" reception at launch, the game had huge potential. Its blend of Driver and Max Mad gameplay inspired a serious amount of hype building up to what ultimately became a massive flop.

Samson's PC launch was rough, to say the least, but that didn't deter the developer, who promised major improvements and an eventual release onto Xbox consoles, now revealed to be coming sometime in September.

If you've not heard of Samson before, allow me to get you up to speed. Set within the streets of Tyndalston, a city of crime, muscle cars, and fisticuffs, the game has been compared to that of a "no nonsense, straight to the point PS3 style driver/beat-em-up". Here's the official description:

Samson returns to Tyndalston, a city that shaped him hard, where every fight is close and every escape is earned. He owes dangerous people more than he can pay, and they’re using his sister to force his hand. The clock is ticking. The only way out is through anyone who stands in his way.

Most of the negativity points toward the lack of polish, bugs, and overall poor performance on PC. In response to the mixed reception at launch, the developer since shared Samson's 2026 roadmap, and have been "hard at work to deliver the game we spent years of our lives developing".

Just a couple weeks ago, Liquid Swords Founder Christofer Sundberg posted to his socials that the "console versions of Samson are progressing really well".

All this to say, Samson may launch on Xbox Series X|S in a much better state, and perhaps the game's battered mop head might have a better time with console users. We'll leave you with a few screenshots to look over.
