Xbox's First 'Gamerscore Millionaire' Suggests How To Improve 100% Completions

I mean it’s not a deal breaker however it is slightly annoying I have lots of game completed with 1000/1000 gamerscore but don’t show up as completed because of DLC or update achievements, I’d only ask for these to be a separate list as Sony does with trophies.

Asking for rewards like discounts for completing a game is completely unrealistic.

yeah, improvements would be nice, but neither of the two suggestions

maybe profile themes or dynamic themes as well as a badge or something else minor, idk i dont care that much

I wish they would give you some type of prize like a console background or a reward.

Maybe it's my time gaming from nes to ps2, where those things didn't happen. Achievements/trophies mean nothing to me. I just play the game.

Full screen celebration would be a very short term dopamine hit. I would rather have a section of your profile highlight all the games you have 100% on. Even if it doesn't list the actual games just have it be a badge like the one counting your years on xbox.

Im not against improvements to getting 100% ina game!
Don't think you can take away that hollow empty feeling when you 100% a game you really enjoy playing but that could be just me!
The journey to 100% is always better than achieving it in my opinion!

They literally just need a "platinum" on PS analog. Just do a diamond/gold and make a cool animation. thats it. It also has to be separate from DLC.

Its so simple and I dont understand why it has not been done over many years. This little feature motivated me to fully complete bunch of games on PS5 - I have platinumed ghost of Tsushima and ratchet last year.

Would love to see it on xbox

There are so many ways to improve the achievement system. Xbox really should take command and introduce a slew of changes; they essentially invented the console achievement/trophy system and this is the perfect opportunity to provide gamers with the Premiere implementation.

For example, allow the end user to permanently erase a game and its achievements from our lists. Not just ‘hide’ it, but actually delete it from existence. There is zero reason why this shouldn’t already be a thing. It’s an open secret Microsoft uses achievements primarily for analytics, and there’d be no conflict here—they’d still collect all relevant data whether we have the option to erase them or not. This would protect achievement hunters who are concerned about their perfect accounts, and incentivize those of us who factor a game’s achievement list into consideration when deciding whether to buy a game or avoid it like the plague.

A simple button press that banishes a game with broken achievements, glitched achievements, ones tied to extraneous dlc or game modes added post-launch which you might not have any desire to play, or any game facing a dreaded server shutdown from our lists would solve 99% of achievement related issues.

If Xbox management won’t institute a platform wide set of criteria as to what is and what is not an acceptable achievement, then this is the next best thing. Put the power in our hands and keep the achievement hunting community thriving. As an added bonus it would put pressure on Sony and make it seem as though they treat their trophy hunting community like second class citizens.

For me achievements are not something I care about & have never chased in any game. So you all add what ever as long as I can disable it so I don't have to have it bother me.

Imagine beating something with a serious story and the final cutscene starts to play, and you get a "full screen confetti celebration" for achievements. Get out of here with this ****.

Allow us to disable achievements and not show them or see them, but maybe see total play time for each game.

@nomither6 that's cool. Enjoy them, you do you. For ME, they're just not my cup of tea. I don't look at the achievements/trophy list prior to a game, i don't go out of my way to 100% them, etc.

I'd be happy if the achievement system sent you an email with some picture of a trophy, or some special art like wallpapers or such, or just anything so you could SHARE it online in an easy way. I'd would be a fun way to show off.

I remember on the 360 there used to be a separate tab on your gamer profile showing games where you’d got all 1,000. They should just bring that back. I’m not particularly interested in having badges or trophies or anything like that.

I only play the parts of games that are fun so my game score is 120,000 despite playing over 300 and beating 200 games on Xbox.

I would like to see better handling for story completions, full completions, and getting any achievement where less then 3% of game players have gotten the achievement.

I like all suggestions. But am not much of a fan on a celebration for full completion. I like the idea of discounted DLC, backgrounds, highlighting completions in your achievements list, XB reward points, completion badges, game hall of fames, etc. Spending the time to complete games fully should be rewarded. Especially, if the completion is a significant amount of play time.

I do think a game completion should get more celebration, but making it full screen spam is not it!

I would not mind an auto recording and an opt-in system that shared the accomplishment directly into social media accounts of the users choice.

Also some form of categorization to divide achievements into 3 categories:

Campaign completion (on games where that applies)
Challenges (things that don’t have to do with story)
Online achievements (for games with online modes)

It sucks not being able to achieve “completion” on some old game because the user has not paid for the paywall access or because the game servers have simply been shut down.

It would be critical to somehow do this categorization retroactive. Sites like TrueAchievement already tag most games achievements in some of these ways.

Step one be rich enough to afford enough games n not have to work so you can have enough time to get one million gamers more 🤣🤣🤣🤣 million though thats insane
