Gears Of War: E-Day Might Release In September 2026 As Xbox Shooter Sponsors Upcoming Event

As we lead into the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, very little is known about Microsoft's upcoming Gears of War: E-Day release - but a random mention in relation to an upcoming WWE event may well have given us a tease for its launch window ahead of the official E-Day Direct.

That's right, ahead of the 'WWE Triplemania' wrestling event in the first half of September, Jeremy Borash — VP of content and development at the organisation — has shared a promotional image on social media, which happens to include sponsorship by Gears of War: E-Day.

Here's the post in question:

Now, this doesn't outright state that the new Gears game will be out by the event's September 11-13 date range, but it does suggest a release in and around that time, given the game's official tie-in to the event. Also, this isn't the first time we've heard of a September date for Gears of War: E-Day either; notorious COD leaker The Ghost Of Hope mentioned it when talking about MW4 last month.

As things stand, then, Microsoft could have a pretty ridiculous six months ahead of itself. Forza Horizon 6 is coming this month, we've heard reports of Halo: Campaign Evolved in July, and now Gears: E-Day September rumours are slotting that one in right before Fable in Fall 2026. We wouldn't take this Gears date to the bank just yet, but we should know for sure following the upcoming Xbox showcase on June 7th.
