Open wide for some soccer! Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is officially coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S when it releases on August 21st, 2025. It marks the first time the series has ever appeared on Xbox consoles.
For those who aren't familiar, Inazuma Eleven is a "character collection and football simulation RPG" series that first debuted on the Nintendo DS back in 2008, and it's generally been associated with both the DS and 3DS over the years.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road features a story that takes place 25 years after that original DS game:
In search of a world without football, protagonist Destin Billows enrolls at South Cirrus Junior High. Meanwhile, within the prestigious Raimon Junior High - renowned as the top team in the nationals - rises a "football monster" named Harper Evans.
When these two cross paths, a tale begins to unfold...
'Featuring a roster of over 5,200 characters, the longest anime runtime in series history, and the ability to play or manage your games as well as take on "exciting online tournaments", we're very intrigued to play this one in August!
You can check out the trailer for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road at the top of the article, and we'll throw even more details about the game along with a few official screenshots down below.
The latest entry in the character collection and football simulation RPG series, "Inazuma Eleven!" With an original story featuring new main characters, over 4,500 players from across the series' history to collect and train, as well as exciting online tournaments, you can play the game your way!

Might be the time I finally play one of these.
@Lup I've never really paid attention to the series before, but I'm already looking up the DS version to try and get a copy 😅
I'll be buying both Fantasy Life: the Girl that Steals Time & Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road as they'll both be good games & hope that levels 5 also brings Deca Police as well to Xbox.
Nice. Wish they’d put Deca police on Xbox too, and port megaton musashi
@cragis0001 Fantasy Life: the Girl that Steals Time is high on my radar too. I cant wait to get my hands on that.
@Kaloudz me too. The amount of Asian titles hitting Xbox lately has been fantastic. Can't wait to hear about more this summer.
@cragis0001 I'm with you 1000% it really is night and day to what we had even just 5 years ago.
@Kaloudz aye can't wait to see what gets announced at the Xbox summer games fest & Tokyo Game Show.
I didn’t realize this game has been in development for over 10 years… it’s the same game announced back in 2016. It looks so much more interesting than original trailers, I’m glad the developers had room to work on it to give it a more unique personality.
@cragis0001 I forget - is Summer before Tokyo? I've got a feeling we will see some big announcements this year, it just feels like one of those "we know everything" years and they tend to surprise the hell out of us when that happens - I mean we practically know FF7R will come - so I question what else will come to supplement it.
@Kaloudz yeah the Tokyo Game Show is between 25-28th September. I hope we do get some surprises. As I can't wait to see what we get from Sega/Atlus. Namco Bandai & Capcom. To be fair I'm loosing faith in Square Enix again. As it's starting to look like it's back to its very selective catalogue of releases than full support we were lead to believe. I'm more excited to see what's next for Xbox from Level 5 after the two recent announcements. Hopefully we get support from more studios. More Cygames on Xbox would be welcome.
@cragis0001 I agree with all that you said. In fact I think with how widespread Xbox is aiming to be (this is an Xbox, that is an Xbox) it's showing publishers and developers that their own games may well have much farther release audiences too, which I think will help with gauging interest in devs releasing games on the platform that may not have normally done so. Yeah SE have confused me too with their latest game announcement - skipping Xbox (unless that was agreed to before SE went multiplat and they legally have to honour it) is bad form in the face of their promises. But we can only but wait and see what happens :/
@Kaloudz so much for Xbox is dead!! As like you said. The opening of the eco system is allowing for the best support Xbox has had with certain publishers since the Xbox 360. Still improvements are needed to have PlayStation level of support though. Maybe Steam support will sort that. As for Square Enix. It's definitely a wait & see. But if they don't want my money!!! There are plenty who do.
@cragis0001 Could not agree more. I'm hopeful that Steam support makes it more attractive to devs/pubs that wouldn't otherwise release on the platform - and if the next Xbox has a similar infrastructure, I cant see why they wouldn't make a native version for the console too - if it really is going to be similar in hardware scope.
@Kaloudz we can only hope as the more options available to Xbox users the better.
Considering what's happening with PlayStation raising prices & Nintendo's ridiculous £75 a game. I can't see me ditching Xbox anytime soon. Even though I own all platforms.
@cragis0001 I have to ask, with you owning all consoles. What's you fave console of all time? Or top two if they're close? For me it's Dreamcast and Series S.
