Today, gorgeous Xbox platformer Ori And The Blind Forest is officially 10 years old - and to celebrate the game's anniversary, Moon Studios' Thomas Mahler has unveiled a pretty incredible sales milestone for the Ori series as a whole.
Yep, as the first game in the franchise officially turns 10, Mahler has revealed that the Ori series has now sold more than 15 million units in total. That's an absolutely huge figure, and we can only congratulate Moon Studios for its achievement here.
What makes this especially impressive is that there are only two main games in the franchise, despite this beautiful platforming series living rent-free in our heads for more than a decade at this point. On Xbox, both The Blind Forest and The Will of the Wisps are in Game Pass as well - and that's on top of this humongous sales figure!
Speaking of the second entry in the series, that one turns five years old today as well, which we celebrated here at Pure Xbox with a little tribute last month. To look back at that one, check out the link to our recent Ori and the Will of the Wisps Talking Point down below.

It's such a beautiful looking game that I still need to play.
I really need to play Will of the wisps. I have had it for ages and just haven't got round to it....
I loved the first one - even that flippin' tree!
Amazing news. Both games are wonderful, in slightly different ways. I rebought them on Steam Deck despite having access on Xbox. Will of the Wisps looks and plays fantastically on the OLED.
Ori and the Blind Forest brought me back into gaming after I had been dormant from it for a little while, maybe a year or two, so I can honestly say I’m glad I played it and I love the series.
Quite mad for a metrodvania that's also on gamepass 😅 n probs are niche although my fave genre of games just done ender magnolia but just started biomorph and still have tails of iron 2 the new momodora Laika aged in blood to start n Bo path teal lotus to finish 🤣
I loved both of these games. They were two of the very first games I played when I got my Xbox and Game Pass. Often I can't into Metroidvanias but these were different. Such a shame there's unlikely to be a third.
I wonder if Ori 3 is being developed for Xbox Prime.
@bert0503 Could well be. It's a very good game and I'm sure there's a studio under MS belt that can take it on and work wonders with it.
One of the most beautiful series in gaming, period. Excellent game for its genre too. Well worth playing.
