While Rebellion's upcoming new IP Atomfall is one of the hottest Game Pass tickets for March, the team's tried and true Sniper Elite series hit the service back in January too - and Resistance has just received a couple of new DLC packs on Xbox.
Starting out with the free content here - classic Sniper Elite protagonist Karl Fairburne returns in the 'Fairburne’s Armoury Weapons and Skins Pack'. You can grab two variants of the character, alongside a couple of new weapons at no extra charge.
"The Fairburne’s Armory Weapons and Skins Pack is free to all players and contains two character skins, along with the M.1903 Rifle and the M1A1 Gov. submachine gun."
This new DLC also pairs up with a fresh title update that adds two free multiplayer maps into the mix - one a returning Sniper Elite 5 favourite and one a brand-new addition for Resistance. Both of these are out now and playable on Xbox Game Pass.
Finally, if you're interested in more single-player Sniper Elite content and don't mind throwing Rebellion a bone - a new premium mission pack is also available. The 'Vercors Vendetta Mission and Weapons Pack' adds a brand-new campaign mission and two new weapons to the Sniper Elite: Resistance arsenal.
Down below is a brief description of the game's new premium mission pack, coming in at $11.99 / £9.99.
"Despite destroying the primary Nazi stockpile of the deadly nerve agent Kleine Blume, one final cache survived! This stash has now been loaded into artillery shells ready for an imminent launch against multiple targets throughout France. With millions of civilian lives at stake, Harry Hawker launches a daring attempt to neutralise the remaining Wunderwaffe before they can be deployed."
Hopping back into SE: Resistance for this? Steady your scopes and shoot your shot down below.

I've been playing this with a mate for a few weeks now. We only manage one night a week (at best!), and so progress has been slow. It's just as good as 4 and 5, which were not as good as 2 and 3, but still worth playing. Plus blasting a Nazi in the nether-regions from 500m away never gets old...! 🤣
I was only wondering last night why it didn't have Karl Fairburne as the main protagonist. Does any one know why he was missing in action for the main campaign...?
I'm enjoying Resistance for what it is "a more of the same, standalone game". Don't get me wrong if it was 6 I'd be disappointed.
@Fiendish-Beaver Narratively I think it's supposed to be happening at roughly the same time as 5 (I suspect the actual reason was to "hand a lantern" on the fact this isn't supposed to be SE 6.
Pass on the free dlc. I don't need any costumes, but I could have used a new mission on GP.
Thank you, @abe_hikura. That makes sense. However, my mate said only last night, that really, the story is never the strong point, it's all about the gameplay, and shooting Nazi's in the gonads, so I'm not sure having Karl in the game would have upset many people...
Hard pass for me. I didn't rate this game very much at all.
I am looking forward to Atomfall and I think I might enjoy Sniper Elite: Resistance as it has some similar game mechanics and game engine.
